    I never understood people who move to another state simply to save maybe a grand a year on property taxes, only to spend maybe 5 grand a year on sales taxes.

    I say live where you are the happiest, then arrange your career and budget to fit it.

    It's not much, about 1%. But you have pump your own gas and pay sales tax. The one thing that is kind of shocking though in Seattle, is the high parking costs downtown. I think they have a large tax on that. It is about $250 a month for parking in most places. $4 an hour is standard. $50 for event parking near the stadiums.
