Well I went to buy NBA 2K7 today and accidently asked for 2K6, so I decided to play it anyway and wow was I impressed. The gameplay is so smooth, the dunks, everything just flows so well together on the court. I might return it to get 2K7 but I want to know if their is a big difference between the too. Also, I have it for the PS2.
why wouldnt you bring it back and get 2k7? it will have all the updated rosters, with the new rookies and the graphics are better along with the gameplay. everything is much improved over 2k6. I think you should definately go buy 2k7

The gameplay is EXACTLY the same. The updated rosters and sig shots would make the extra 10 bucks worth it.
It's $29.99 for the Xbox version (if I remember correctly) and $59.99 for the Xbox 360 version (and worth it, in my opinion). I'm not sure about the PS2 version though...
If you're in it for gameply, NBA 2K7 is absolute gold. Perhaps the best basketball gameplay ever - both realistically and in entertainment value. However, if you like really cool Franchise Modes and Individual Modes as well, skip it
I just got it today and already found a funny glitch, so I was playing with the Heat and I scored with Shaq on a little hook and I hear "Jason Williams!" I was like what the hell? So I go ahead and try the same thing to see if my ears weren't playing a trick on me, this time it said Wade's name

They added sig shots much more better lead passes or touch passes so its has a nice effect on the fast break game. They slowed it down a bit last year I just held the button so I would run faster I scored in 2 seconds now its slower and better. You might be pissed at first though don't worry it gets fun when you keep playing and get used to it

Your right though, 2K6 was a faster paced game, 2K7 slowed it down a bit. I was also a bit made how many dunks I was missing! Had to tune up the game slider to fix that. It's great though.
what a great game. I can't believe I wanted nba live over this game. the game play is much more realistic. I love it.
I've noticed in 2k7(ps2) they dont say Channing Frye's name. They just say 'number 7'. For every other player(that I know of) they say the name, even created ones.Thinks 2k needs to be perfect:Better face graphics(for player faces)Better Create a PlayerSome Control tweeks to make it to user friendlyA mode like NBA 07's The LifeAn explanation as to WHY my team's chemistry is only 12% even though we're a 25-4 team in the WCF right now.

It also does the same thing for Salim Stoudamire... says "Number 20" instead of his name...
I don't really pay attention to if they say their names or not because most of the time I listen to music while I'm playing.
