I think some of you need to step back a bit and look at the larger picture. While you are not privy to Girardi's play book, doesn't mean there is no strategy being followed. You likely can't see the patterns and trends because you can only see the time window of games played or being played. What you are not factoring in is his strategy for the next game, week, month, etc. And that game plan is continuously adjusted due to injuries, both major and minor...including the minor stuff you don't know about. Interestingly in this real time information age, it really does propagate delusions of grandeur. You think you know what's going on, but that couldn't be any farther from reality.

Girardi is managing a complex matrix, with significant risk/benefit analyses....and there are both tactical and strategic considerations that are layered here. You don't follow the shift calls or the pitching changes because you don't know the probability calculations he is using to dictate those decisions. And make no mistake, these guys are making decisions by the numbers.

And we thank you Tom for that direct report from the Yankees dugout. Always good to have a reporter on the spot getting in depth & accurate information. And now back to our studios.

Sorry Tom, I just couldn't resist.

Tom please refer to my humor in post #22 because honestly with all due respect, though you paint a nice picture of what goes on behind closed doors NONE OF US actually know because we're not privy to all that goes on. So one cannot assume or take as fact what you've discribed unless you're actually part of what really goes on. And if indeed you are then just disregard this entire post.

Ron, to explain why I didn't MISREAD or MISINTERPRET what Tom was trying to explain I took the liberty to quote his post again & highlight the parts that I thought I very clearly made my point on.

#1) Tom is directing this at us as if he already knows.

#2) Again, Tom says while YOU are not privy, again implying that HE already knows.

#3) And again Tom says (as if he knows first hand), "YOU likely can't see the patterns & trends" etc.

I could continue this but I think (God I hope) you understand my point, Tom's entire post is being spoken as if it were 1st hand knowledge & based on FACT. And my point was just that unless you're in the damn room at the time NONE OF US have any idea what actually goes on.

I really can't believe that my initial response actually needed explaining, But what the hell, I had no where to be.

And Tom I mean no disrespect toward you honestly, I guess I was just questioning your constant use of the word YOU instead of WE. But again if you really do have 1st hand knowledge of the things that go on AGAIN.......disregard my response.

Well there's 5 minutes I'll never get back.

...no, tote's post is NOT spoken as if it were "first hand knowledge". Instead, it is based on FACT and COMMON SENSE.

...tote also uses the word "you" in a different context that you can grammatically understand..."You" is also used to refer to the reader and not any one person is particular. But hey, there are some who cannot differentiate the difference between "then" and "than", so in a way I can understand.

...again, you totally mis-read what he said. And if you'd like to dispute anything he said with your own FACTS, I'm all ears

Ron, it can only be based on FACT if he you or I are actually there to know for sure what goes on. otherwise it is only ASSUMPTION. Now I can say with certain that SOMETHING is done to determine what different hitters do & don't do, where to play them or how to pitch to them, Yes this is common sense, but to lay it out the way Totes did is only speculation & assumption & not FACT. As I've said 3-4 times now, unless one of us is actually fucking there to see & here EXACTLY what goes on & what is done to the degree that Totes points out we would have to be there & have first hand knowledge & we don't.

Again I hope Totes knows that I mean no disrespect to him. And on that note I'm done with this topic also. UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE.

So Ron, how about them Yankees?

LMAO, "Well no fucking shit"? FINALLY, you agree with me. It took long enough.

"And that's exactly what tote was saying"? No it wasn't. But I'm glad I could clear it up.

Have a great day Ron, and lets hope this team can get there shit together before we fall so far behind we won't be catching anyone.
