If any of the games are being played in Brazil, then yes he is!

Cristiano Ronaldo has severe patellar tendonitis in knee, and what sounds like a hamstring pull as well. That would be big news that impacts the USA team.

I'll go there for the 9am USMT game against Germany on 6/26. I'll be on vacation out of state for the first two games, so I can't make it.

He didn't look good in the CL final. I thought maybe it was fatigue (since I only saw from the 80th minute or so). I can't stand him, but the world cup can't keep losing the stars. First Ibra doesn't make it, then Falcao can't recover in time, Suarez just had surgery and now Diego Costa and Ronaldo are banged up. But, it does help our chances, so I'll take it!

At some point, maybe the leagues in Europe may figure out that playing 2 games a week at times in league play, plus Euro League or Champions League for top teams, (plus national team qualifiers, cups, and friendlies for the very best players) may not be the best way to utilize star players and lengthen their careers.

Who are the great strikers who are over 30 years old now?

Also, don't forget about Montes being out for Mexico. He was arguably the best player for El Tri prior to his gruesome injury over the weekend.

RVP and Ibrahimovic are the only guys I can think of but I only watch soccer when countries play each other (doesn't matter what tournament).

agreed... although with Uruguay and Suarez being hurt, and Forlan being 4 years older (Although he killed Killed KILLED it in South Africa) they better hope Cavani is up to the task.

How fucking good is Michael Bradley, by the way. He's been the best player on the pitch tonight.

As a soccer noob I have a question... Why does the goalie always suck so bad on penalty kicks?

Because the person taking the PK is 12 yards away, and they can kick the ball 80mph into a goal that is 8 yards wide and 2.67 yards high. That's 24'x8', with almost no time to react since the keeper can't move forward from the line before the ball is kicked to try and decrease the angle by moving toward the person taking the PK.

I was out of town and missed the game. How did we look overall? The lead up to the first goal was really nice. The pass, control and shot on the 2nd was fantastic. Jozy can be so frustrating since his touch looks poor a lot of the time, and then he goes and perfectly brings that ball down with his chest. Hopefully we see this Jozy in Brazil.

Also, just saw this. Germany will still be the group favorites, but this makes them a little more beatable. Also, adds to the growing list of injured stars.

On Youtube, US Soccer posted a quick 2 minute on every player on the roster. It's mostly about their background/off the field life. These, as well as maybe a highlight video on all the players is a good idea since the casual fan might only know Dempsey, Howard, Beasley and Jozy.

    Here is Duece's video
