My jumper is solid, but nothing special. I'd say I am pretty solid overall.

I'm a shooter and that's mostly it. I'm mostly average at everything else. Last year I averaged 11.5 ppg and they were practically all from shots. I have been really working on driving a lot lately and setting myself up for shots to make my scoring game more versatile. Too bad I'll probably barely play any minutes at all this season for the JV team since I'm a freshmen and only 5'5 with mediocre PG skills.

In middle school I was really good, was always in the game, but only relied on my speed and dribbling and really didn't know basketball well. Come my freshmen year, I teams knew how to trap your speed, and play people, so I sat the bench on JV and hardly ever got to go in. The next year as a sophmore, after alot of practice, studying playbooks, and playing basketball nonstop at the gym, I was the only sophmore put on the varisty team, and I got good minutes off the bench, and then started at point as a junior the next year. So as I said, work hard at your point guarding skills, practice dribbling with both hands, keeping your head up, work on your crossover, and play alot of people in your neighbourhood and you won't have a problem next year. Don't let setting the bench discourage you though.

    Re: What's your role?

I'm the best shooter on the court, almost all the time..I can shoot it from anywhere, I've got pretty good handles, but I'm not looking to dribble a ton. We've got some decent guards, but we've got a very very good forward, who can dribble, shoot, rebound, pass, he can do it all..My role is to shoot the ball, and take care of the ball. I am not turnover prone at all, and I'm a good passer. On defense, I usually guard the 2nd offensive weapon on the opposing team, and our good forward guards the best player..<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pinoy Balla @ Nov 17 2006, 07:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>leaping ability but my school team isn't tall. the vid you saw I was playing with older kids</div>They looked about 8 years old? Re: What's your role?

I'm the starting point guard here. I bring the ball up, set up the offense and pass. I pick up a few steals every game thus leading to open layups. I am the quickest guy on the team but I am not a very good 1 on 1 defender but I have quick hands and get a few steals every game. I do drive into the lane occasionally and score the layup or draw the foul but I like to pass the ball around and get my teammates open looks.I used to play shooting guard a few years back and was the leading scorer on the team but everyone on the team grew and I sorta stayed the same height. We got a new coach and he sorta 'converted' me into a point guard. I was always quite good with ball handling so I guess it was a good transition. Surely, I like playing point more. My whole perspective in basketball changed. I used to idolize Vince Carter, the go-to guy but since 2 years ago, I've begun to appreciate the playmakers and the players who contribute by getting their teammates involved.

    Re: What's your role?

    - I have to be really vocal on my team, even though I'm usually not a really loud person. I have a quiet team and I have to keep the communication going.- On offense, pretty much just bring lots of energy and move around, hit open shots and drive occasionally.- We're a poor rebounding team so I have to hustle a lot to box out and grab the boards.

    Re: What's your role?

For my club team, I'm the main point guard, Im expected to do everything, shoot, score and pass, which I can't do...I have 2 other players with the same pressure, we're the most consistent on the team, but the team after us 3 sucks, they brick and airball layups, yet were undefeated...don'y ask me how

Score in the post a bit, rebound, block shots, bring energy, and initiate our high post offense.

    Re: What's your role?

Well, im the starting PG/SG for my JV team. While I am a good shooter, I can also pass the ball very well. I like to run a fast paced game and get out in the open floor, and get quick buckets. Whether I am the one that scores, gets the assits, or just gets the ball up the court period. My team plays mainly a zone defense, so whether it is a 1 3 1 zone, or a 2 3 zone, I do a good job at not letting too much penetration, and both me and my other guard are good at stealing passes. I am kinda the floor general, so although we dont have alot of close games becuase we are pretty good, when it is close, I take the leading role positon of the team and try and keep everything in tact.

Point Gaurd. Im the one that scores 1/2 of the points and dish it out. I have 2 other teammates that are good. One is a big man in the paint he's a beast down there and is good at flopping to get to the line. Ther is a good defender but has almost no offensive game.
