Thread for what player is Hot/Not throughout the league, first up is Baron Davis. Baron Davis is recognized for having injury problems but he is a great player when is in the floor. The 6'3 guard put up 36 against New Orleans a few days ago and a recent 26 point performance against the Mavericks. All while dishing out 7 assists and grabbing 4 boards per game.Michael Redd has been on fire lately, scoring a Bucks record 57 in a loss against Utah today and averaging 28 PPG in the season. Points scored in his last 4 games Utah - 57@ WAS - 28@ HOU - 34@ CHI - 30Redd has also been shooting 50% from the field and 45% from the 3 point arc.Not so Hot:Jason Richardson while Baron may be playing well, the other Warriors guard hasn't. Richardson is averaging 12 PPG and shooting a mediocre 32% from the field. Against New Orleans, he played 25 minutes and only scored 6 points. His best performance came against Dallas when he scored 22 on 7-19 shooting. You guys can do a few others, you can also try doing teams.
A hot team right now is Utah. They are 6-1 and they are really playing excellent ball. If these guys stay healthy, no doubt they will win the northwest. Deron Williams is looking like a star, Boozer is dominating down low, Okur is playing solid, AK47 does everything, and they have savvy veterans (Fisher, Harpring, Collins) mixed with solid young players off the bench (Brewer, Millsap, Brown). They are really looking like a team with a lot of chemistry.A team that is not hot, obviously my Boston Celtics. We are 1-5, which is dead last in the ENTIRE NBA. This is a team that has the players to be a playoff team this year, and we are not getting it done. Even last night when we came out dominating, we had a 25 point lead midway through the 3rd quarter, we ended up losing by 1. WTF is that? Doc Rivers is a great guy, but a disgusting coach. Doc should be fired A-SAP. I know it's not all Doc's fault, but get him out of here.A player that it hot right now is definitely Deron Williams. In Boston on friday night he had 26 points and 14 assists. Last night in Milwaukee he had 27 points, 15 assists, and 5 steals! Those numbers are BEASTLY. I love Deron, he's a young stud.A player that is not hot right now is Channing Frye. In 20 minutes per game he's averaging 3 points and 4 boards on 22% shooting. He's sucking. This is very dissapointing considering his All-Rookie team selection last year. He needs to pick it up.
I believe it is safe to put Joe Johnson on that list of players that are hot right now. He had 28 points, 10 rebounds tonight. 34 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists the night before. He is averaging 29 points per game on the season, and is a huge reason for his team coming out the gate strong in this season. Not hot is the T'wolves low post defense, and rebounding. They are a horrible rebounding team, and maybe even worse at keeping people out of the paint.
Hot Tim Duncan is playing great and his team is winning, what more can I say ?? He's is averaging 21.5ppg, 11rpg, 4apg and 1.5 blocks !!! Willie Green has been decent off the bench for the sixers over his last 3 games averaging 12ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.3 spg while averaging 16 mpg this season, also he's shooting better than he usally does so thats a good sign. Expect a decent game by him against the Sonics.!!ColdWade ... He's playing better but when you see him play you just know he still is pretty tired from playing basketball a lot latley, We can expect more from him once he starts to really get things going.
I think if you mention TD, you have to mention Tony Parker as well. He's scoring about 7 points above his career average PPG. It's covering up the fact that other players on the team are ageing, slumping, or both.
Zack Randolph is red hot right now. Nobody thought he'd be lighting up the scorecard the way he is now.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SunnyD @ Nov 12 2006, 01:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Zack Randolph is red hot right now. Nobody thought he'd be lighting up the scorecard the way he is now.</div><span style="font-family:Tahoma">Agreed. Zach's last three games were 30 points and above 10 rebounds each. Also, Yao Ming is definitely hot right now. He's playing better than he did in the last half of the 2005-06 season.</span>
Someone who's cold is Tracy McGrady. He just can't hit those damn shots. He needs to be more agressive. He's only averging 18 PPG shooting 39% from the field and 26% from the 3pt. Line.
This shows alot how good Mcgrady is, and how much everyone expects from him. It's crazy how for lots of players 18 points per game is nice, and something they want to do, and if Mcgrady, Bryant or one of these guys was to do it, it's an off year and they aren't playing good ball. But your right, he is definately not hot right now, but I think he will pick it up and start scoring better this year.
I want to add Vince Carter to this list. He is near the top of the league in Scoring with about 27 a contest, and his assists per game and rebounds per game are doing pretty dang good as well. The team is only 2-2 right now but they recently beat last years NBA champs. Paul Pierce is another. Even though his team is playing awful right now, he is playing simply amazing. He is near the top of the league in RPG (mostly because they are playing small ball) and his scoring is doing pretty well also.
Hot:UtahAtlantaJoe JohnsonChris BoshZach RandolphMichael ReddAllen IversonNotallasMiamiManu GinobliPhiladelphia (started hot; 3-0 but are cold now; 0-3)
Leandro Barbosa and Steve Nash have been doing really good lately. Barbosa has been playing amazing, and Steve Nash has been averaging 20 points and 10+ assists!Boris Diaw...not hot at all...
