Barfo is a tory. I'm sure there are many like him. Tory's will never understand why guns are important.

    Incorrect assumptions.

If you guys really want a civil war, then that's what we'll have. I just think that's a stupid childish fantasy which will inevitably end badly.

I never said I want one. I said that an armed public is the only real thing that prevents our country from getting to the point where we need one.

No, this argument of yours fails like it always does because the examples you use like Iraq and Afghanistan didn't last strictly on stuff that is legal here. SO in order to get to that point, we'd be breaking the law and using things not protected under the 2nd amendment like road side bombs and rocket launchers and such. Saying they did it, so that's why we need the 2nd amendment is just a horribly flawed argument.

If it ever came to a civil war in America, I can guarantee you there would be IED's and all kinds of nasty shit. Laws would go right out the window. Of course, I don't see American rebels blowing up women and children to make a point.

    Motivation[edit]

McVeigh and Nichols cited the federal government's actions against the Branch Davidian compound in the 1993 Waco Siege (shown above) as a reason they perpetrated the Oklahoma City bombing.

The chief conspirators, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, met in 1988 at Fort Benning during basic training for the U.S. Army.[17] Michael Fortier, McVeigh's accomplice, was his Army roommate.[18] The three shared interests in survivalism.[19][20] They expressed anger at the federal government's handling of the 1992 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) standoff with Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge as well as the Waco siege—a 1993 51-day standoff between the FBI and Branch Davidian members which began with a botched ATF attempt to execute a search warrant leading to a fire fight (it is unknown whether ATF agents or Branch Davidians fired the first shot) and ended with the burning and shooting deaths of David Koresh and 75 others.[21] In March 1993, McVeigh visited the Waco site during the standoff, and then again after its conclusion.[22] McVeigh later decided to bomb a federal building as a response to the raids.[12][23][24][25]

So it just came out that this kid kept a journal saying to kill all sinners.

Good stuff, sooo, tell me again how this kid is not suffering from some sort of mental condition? I mean at some point you have to wonder how he doesn't understand right from wrong.

of course there would. But none of that really has anything to do with the 2nd amendment.

You don't think a civil war has anything to do with the 2nd amendment?

Ok, so I'm just talking crazy here, and am about to propose a possible state of mind. This may be offensive, and I don't claim I'm right, just that this makes some sense to me.

Sounds to me like this is most likely a mix of some mental issue alongside being raised devoutly Mormon. There are quite a few parts of scripture Mormons turn to that talk about defending ones family. Mormons usually are very well prepared for any disaster, with the church providing a years food for every member and copious amounts more for neighbors and friends. This philosophy according to a ex-Mormon friend of mine has spread to armament and he said most of the Mormons where he was from (Montana) had dozens of guns and tens of thousands of rounds of ammo stored.

So here you have a kid who grows up being preached to all the time about sinners, while family and friends all have tones of guns and talk about the honor of using them (to protect ones family). His brother is in the military, so who he looks up to always has weapons and is looked at as a hero.

So wires get crossed in his mentally deranged head, he sees sinners as evil and taking them down as an homer able way to be a man, and a chance to use his guns in the glory of god and family.

Making arms illegal because you think that evil people have too many guns
is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbors have too many kids...
