TBH I was a little disappointed in the finale. The produces were giving interviews saying this was their greatest episode ever. It was good but it didn't blow me away. And _________ dying at the end didn't come as that big of a surprise. That show is pretty fearless in killing people off.

I had lost my excitement for the show as they slogged thru the middle half of the season, but they rallied hard with the last three episodes. I didn't think the Viper vs Mountain battle could be topped, but that Brienne vs Hound fight was pretty fantastic. Kudos to the showrunners for fabricating that one.

It will be interesting to see how next season plays out. Will they introduce the Greyjoy storyline? It seems pretty pivotal to the continuing plot. Books 4/5 reveal a lot about the other neglected kingdoms, and new characters replace the now vanquished.

Some of the shit they are making up, with the show is just whack. That whole fight never even happens, there's no reason for it either. Then you have the whole shit about Jon taking Craster's Keep. Bran Stark doesn't find the tree until the 5th book, and Jojen doesn't die in any of the current books so far although it's eluded that he will die in the future (which is maybe why they killed him off now).

I will be interested to see how they portray the risen dead of Catelyn Stark. (the white walkers/others raise wights (ice god), and the disciples of r'llor (fire god) or whatever the fuck he is called raise the dead too). Also the story line of Cersei and her framing of Margery. Arya being an assassin will be great.

There's just too much going on in the books to capture it all. Even most of the fans of the books will tell you some of the storylines in the books have become convoluted and often wander aimlessly. I find it mind boggling that people who watch the shows can keep track of the characters, even with the omission of a lot of smaller characters.

I'm glad they at least kept the love story between Grey worm and Missandei. That was so vital in the books. /s

That is true. I still have to go through the Ice and Fire wiki to read up on characters and story lines to remember the details or get clarification.

The show is doing a great job, I love it, but yeah I still wrinkly my nose and make funny faces when some stuff happens in the show that never happened in the books, lol.

Between that made up non existent part, and the whole made up conversation about Jamie and Tyrion's cousin who smashed beetles, i was like WTF? that's about 5-7 minutes of wasted time you could have used to explain other more important things.

GoT did a great job in casting. Writing characters in a book is different than creating dialog for an actor. You have to let actors act. Martin has said in interviews that what the actors have done with certain characters has even changed the way he views some of them and has made him alter some of planned story arcs.

hahahaaa yeah....there has been some wasted footage. The scene where the Lanister brothers talk about cousin Orsen smashing beetles would have been much better if they had discussed the imps first wife...that would have set up the privy scene much more neatly.

For the most, they have done a fair job of at least getting to where they need to be, even if they have to create some contrived foolishness. Some of it does work out well, like the Stark girl and the Hound..and you know that the Spider hopping aboard ship with the Imp will be another tool to propel the plot forward in spite of the people never introduced..
