It would be awkward if he was an assistant there because he'd be a better coach than the head coach. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/233804/Rockets-Trying-To-Hire-Lionel-Hollins-As-Assistant-Coach
It's just the necessary precursor to getting rid of McHale. They're getting his replacement for cheap
Houston is a fun city for wealthy black men. Plus they have a great roster with a shakey coach. He'll be the head coach by the all star break. I can't see how Portland would be a more attractive option than Houston. Why? Because we beat them? The teams stacked next to each other couldn't have been more similar to each other.
Because he could look up during every home game and see his own jersey in the rafters. And because the fans here would love him far more than the Houston fans ever will, even if he does replace McHale. And because Lillard is probably far more enjoyable a player to coach than Harden is.
That looks strange to see. "A fun city for Wealthy Black men." And perhaps it is true But Why??? I don't care if I never see Houston again.
Who says Stotts wants him here? Need coaches that are happy with their role and can contribute to the system already in place.
Weren't there kind of weird personnel reasons why he was let go in Memphis? Like being too strict or some shit like that?
