Lots of ?'s about Kevin Love--Bulls have an offer as media reports have covered. Structure unclear, but Taj, JB, Mike, 2014 picks involved.

    Rumor Press @NBARumorPress

On possible Boozer involvement for Love: MIN has little to no interest. Chicago also doesn't want bad contracts coming their way.

Last bit on Love: some talk of a third team getting involved if Minnesota goes the Chicago route.

Minnesota Timberwolves one GM I spoke with believes that Kevin Love will be traded by next week.
"The distraction will only get worse the longer he's there."

Chicago Bulls are now being considered frontrunners to acquire Kevin Love

Chicago Bulls are now being considered frontrunners to acquire Kevin Love by trade along with the Golden State Warriors.

Chicago Bulls speculation is they could offer a trade package including Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson for Kevin Love. Minnesota Timberwolves it's still unclear if they are fully committed to trading Kevin Love.

According to Chad Ford this is the Bulls offer for Love.

The Bulls, who are offering Taj Gibson, Tony Snell plus No. 16 and 19, are the latest suitors.

    LOL.

Add the PER of Taj and Snell and it's still less than Love's.

Source: Wolves likely to target Bulls, Rockets after Melo derby

But, according to a league source, the Timberwolves are prepared to wait out the draft and instead focus on Plan B — taking advantage of the aftermath of the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes. “There are going to be some teams left at the altar, and that is a good time to make a deal,” the source said.

Specifically, two teams known to be in the mix for Anthony’s services this summer, Chicago and Houston, are also considering the possibility of separately pursuing Love. Anthony is expected to make a decision on his free agent destination relatively quickly. That means that, by the end of the first week of July, either the Bulls or Rockets could be left empty-handed — or both, should Anthony return to New York.

While the preference would be to make a deal that brings back a good young player and at least one good pick in this year’s draft, the Timberwolves can also afford to wait, because both the Rockets and Bulls have attractive young pieces on the roster.

A Bulls offer would center around Taj Gibson, but could include developing wing Tony Snell and either player (or both) the Bulls land with the Nos. 16 and 19 picks. Chicago has also been looking to move up in the draft, which would potentially make their offer to Minnesota better.

Chicago Bulls could still look to pursue Kevin Love if they strike out on Carmelo Anthony this offseason and may pursue Elton Brand, Jason Smith, Jameer Nelson and Ramon Sessions this offseason.

Newly acquired F/C Greg Smith (still rehabbing) and F/C Anthony Randolph aren't locks to remain with the Bulls. Bulls would prefer an upgrade over Nazr Mohammed at center but Mohammed isn't ruled out returning just yet. Bulls could stand pat as far as their wing rotation if they miss out on Carmelo Anthony.

If they amnesty Boozer is the trade OK?

If so, what's the point of this lovely graphic?

That's the trade mentioned in the 1st post.

And I don't think we can trade 16 and 19 anymore.

But if you amnestied Boozer, which is assumed by most, you could trade Gibson and Snell for Love, right?

yep. And the Chairman would effectively pay $30M (minus what the Spurs claim Boozer for) for him first year.

But ford didn't say boozer would be amnestied to make the deal happen.

Why wouldn't a ~$12M TPE plus picks plus Dunleavy be more attractive to the Wolves?

The Bulls wouldn't trade for DHoward because of the risk he'd leave. Why would they take the same risk with Love?

    I seriously doubt they would.

The Bulls were free to talk to Minny. It was reported they made an offer. Did they really?

They didn't have Love visit Chicago. If Minny were interested at all, they'd facilitate an early visit and talks directly with the Bulls. It's not tampering if you have permission.

Supposedly the Bulls made no specific offer to Melo, and he did visit.

I'm beginning to not trust what I read from the KCs and other local writers.

The national press just cites local paper reports. They're not very useful either.

SAS said tonight that Minny is flexing their muscles and he doubts that Love will get moved for now. Want the playoffs.

I say it is a risk. Love wants out even if they make the playoffs

You bring up some good points. We dont really know if we made an offer or if we did we dont know for sure what it was. So much crap on twitter!

And no he has not been brought here, but then again is is a not a FA either. I highly doubt Minny would let him come and listen to us if we have an official presentation

I don't think Minny would want just salary cap space because like the Blazers, they have trouble attracting FAs to come play for them. I like the Gibson Snell idea and would think Minny is going to have to do something at some point. Obviously if Minny can get Klay, they will S&T with the Warriors.

Love is worth the gamble. He is at the peak of his career and will want a huge contract. If Bulls trade for him, they can offer the most. Plus it's not exactly hard to sell a player on Chicago. Of course if Rose never comes back to form and the future is bleak, maybe he bolts for less money.

Gibson would do well in Minny. Give some some real toughness.

Ya Rose may never be MVP, but he could still be a good guard. It may take him the entire season to do it.

With Rose last season before we met you guys, and he got hurt, we had won 5 in a row and he was rusty. Scoring just over 15 a game! He does more than just score. With Love here and even with McDermott, teams cant just concentrate on Rose any more.

I would be thrilled if we can make a trade for him and he signs an extension. Twenty-five years old!

I would still trade boozer somewhere or amnesty him. We need a back up center, pg, and a quality scoring 2 guard.

TBF, I think the opposite is true. If Minny was willing to listen to a Bulls offer, sending Love to Chicago to hear the official presentation would be one of the first things they'd do. After meeting the Bulls, he might decide not to want to play there. Or he might decide he REALLY wants to play there. Without knowing one way or the other, why would the Bulls make an offer at all?
