<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Last summer, the Pistons had an opportunity to acquire Allen Iverson via trade. While it is unclear what GM Billy King was asking for in return, a certain point guard who won the NBA Finals MVP may have been involved."There's no way I'm trading Chauncey Billups," Dumars recently told associates.</div>Source: NY Daily NewsIt would definitely have been interesting to see Iverson play in Detroit, but that move would have been bad for both teams, in my opinion. Chauncey is easily better suited for Detroit's style of play, and no disrespect to Chauncey but he would not be able to significantly improve our team, or maybe at all.Good move by both general managers to steer clear of this trade...

Iverson would take away from the shots from Sheed, and Rip I think, dont forget he is the leading Point getter in the NBA how many times?

Billups with us could go either way imo.

Put offensive weapons around Iverson and he becomes a more efficient player, and thus a more deadly one. If he's letting a guy like Webber take 20+ shots a game, he isn't going to let Sheed get his shots despite knowing Sheed is better than CWebb? Giving Korver his shots, he won't give Rip Hamilton (the best mid-range shooter in the game, in my opinion) his shots? Please...I think AI would fit in well with the Pistons offensively (especially under Saunders), but Billups is just the better fit for them, in my opinion.
