I'm quit stunned myself....after seeing his interview around Opening Day, on becoming the new Yankee Catcher; and his idolization of Munson, and the honor he felt (or said he did), playing in NY of all places. He talked like a kid in a Candy store, like most of us would; given the opportunity to play in Pinstripes. I thought he'd play his heart out, hit like never before, (with the short porch in sight). He just does NOT look at all like the McCann of Atlanta. He lacks the fire, (even absent in his eyes), he showed with the Braves, ....I don't get it...! I no longer am buying, "he needs to get used to AL pitchers". He's seen enough of them, and still nada...!
After sticking up for this guy all season I'm becoming very disappointed. Both he & Beltran have been basically busts.
McCann has to get better. I don't see how you can be worse. As for Beltran that's going to go down as a mistake signing as to me he's showing every bit of his age.
Beltran has pretty much succeeded everywhere else he's been, hey here's a thought, maybe Kevin Long could help him out. (insert laughing icon here). Or better yet maybe Jeter could just introduce him to Denbo.
A-Roid, the return of the greatest player of all time....??? Alex will return to be our next Captain.....DOH-....NOT never, hope someone breaks his legs, before the season begins in 015. I honestly don't want to see A-Roid in PinStripes again. I know the Yanx could use his bat, with or without steroids, but then he still is an easy out, with the outside low pitch...chases it damn near every time....and a Post Season Prima Donna non-performer 3/4ths of the time(s)...! Yep, our new Captain....
I wasn't expecting much this year... new division... new league.... new pitchers to hit off.... new pitchers to catch...
Russell Martin 2011 = 18 / 65 / 237 So I'd say pretty even BUT.........McCann was SUPPOSE to be a vast improvement.
Nice spray chart 59.... IMO, McCann simply needs to cut his K's down, and allow more Bases on Balls. Just a bit more selective, I believe he WILL come around, as well, its inevitable...!
...actually matts, he doesn't strike out that often...and less often than most of the other starters/regulars.
That hasn't been his problem, on the contrary I've been pretty impressed how he has been going to his left.
I agree, nice spray chart! I'm impressed with how he spreads the ball around... just needs to make contact more often and get on base more often, but again, I feel he's still adjusting...
