What about this thread is amusing to you? There is a humanitarian disaster on the southern border due in large part to this administration's words, Joe Biden was sent to Central America to meet with the leaders of those countries to try and stem this tide, and instead he said that some would be granted amnesty, which starts another entire wave. I find nothing about this "amusing" at all. It's nothing short of human trafficking at this point.
People die all over the world. That does not mean that we should become a repository for every third world country. If those people were not allowed to cross Our borders, there would be no reason to make a life threatening journey..again, I lay the blame at the feet of those who have created this mess.
MAJOR EDIT: Reading this back, didn't appreciate papag getting what I consider righteous on me so I typed out what i was feeling at the time, but probably not the best thing to do so I will edit myself (closest i will come to being a mod) I don't find the topic funny I found the thread funny. OP was just a picture which turns out to be from a website. That website became more of a discussion than the topic and eventually came down to if we were now on a list for clicking to the website. I wasn't taking this thread seriously because it went that direction and started to skim it when Denny hit me with reality again. I have many family member that have been affected by this issue and also know how much people hate illegal immigration, so no the topic is not funny, but the thread direction was. OK . . . that is probably what I should have said the first time.
I call bullshit on that, and as for it being a political issue, it 100% is, and our President hasn't said a word about it other than to send Biden to Central America. If you're so concerned about these immigrants, why not get down to Texas ASAP and try to feed and clothe them. The government certainly isn't doing it. As for what has gotten into me, I'm over naivete', foolishness, and ignorance. So, I've decided to be much more blunt and direct, so it's obvious where I stand.

TOB - I'm also just sick to death of extremists on either side of the political parties justifying criminal behavior if it is in favor for their side. The IRS stuff is sickening to watch, and yet to the Democrats are backing the IRS. I find that to be a very stupid platform to run on this fall, so it tells me that if the IRS does tell the truth, it would be even worse for Democrats than backing the most hated government agency by a long way.
Papag, I don't even know you and you paid up on a pricey bet . . . so you are OK in my book. Here we are in the back room of a sports forum talking politics, so I guess this stuff is bound to happen. I hope this OT forum is like Vegas in what happens in the OT forum stays in the OT forum. I get into heated discussions with family members over politics and then we all sit down a eat together so I hope it is kind of the same thing here. Now that I said that, I don't think that video says what you think it says . . . but I can definitely see people drawing negative implications from the fact emails were lost/destroyed. If they were purposely destroyed, well that could be criminal (don't know the statues and at the very least wrongdoing), but even if they was no crime or wrongdoing and they were lost inadvertently, I thought DC brought up a good point: well do you want that kind of management and organization running the IRS and other matters. Having worked for the gov't I can tell you they are archaic and always two steps behind in technology, but that is no excuse for having a poorly run organization. What you found sickening to watch I think many people shrug it off as two grown men playing politics (yes IRS man should not play politics, but is) . . . but republican guy was simply putting on a show. He could have made his points in a more civilized way (and personally been more effective, IMO). but he turned it into a show about him and I think many just tune out at that point. I also think destroying of documents happens all the time in gov't (no matter the president) and public corporations
Duh Papa. I mean, why should other Brazilians take care of their fellow Brazilians? Much easier to ship them to Murrika. It's kinda like other states shipping their homeless, mentally ill, and criminals to other states. Cheaper and easier to ship them out than offer assistance.
