during the off season mr cashman, "haven't been watchin much so go easy on me" and you know who you are darling!!! did i tell you, YOU LOOK MARVELOUS!!!!! but what i'm hearing is we are getting beat by the long ball at our own stadium....

i like gardy, but what was the point in gettin ellsbury and not going after an outfielder with some POP?

its my understanding that nelson cruz? was out there for awhile, was there any chatter about gettin him or anyone else?

Cashman does not know jack about baseball. If the brothers have an ounce of knowledge they will fire this bum and hire Joe Torre. We have a bunch of DL and rest home candidates who steal money from the brothers. Most Jack the ball left or right and as professionals should be able to hit to the opposite fields. Cashmans latest cant hit or catch. Right now Torre is the only with baseball knowledge who can get this mess cleaned up.

Gardner is still tradable but going into next year you figure Ichiro and Soriano are gone so they don't need to move him right now.

...plus he was just resign to a pretty healthy contract...I don't see them trading him now either. He's one of the few bright spots so far.

I agree, Gardner although a nice trade chip isn't whats wrong with this team And like Vic said with both Soriano & Ichiro gone after this season & not knowing what Beltran has left, we need Gardner.

IMO I don't think we'll see another Yankee captain for quite some time.

...make the wager whatever you want...but I am curious as to what leadership qualities you seem in him.

...edit; also keep in mind that the Yanx have a history of gaps between captains...plus, I don't think the young Steins give a rip one way or another.

I don't see it either, ie, Gardner a Kapi-Tan...nope...! Actually, I don't see anyone on the Team worthy of being Jeter's replacement as Captain Material...IMO...!

when McCann was in ST, I thought as did the press, think he exhibited Capt. qualities, esp defensively, but NOT NOW, or in the long term future neither....

McCann has to find his own ass, before he could ever think of leading a team....

So, No Captain for another 8 yrs. Perhaps, our next Captain is not yet on the team, still fermenting in our Minor Lg. System....?
Or- one of our bat boys, not yet old enough to be drafted...!
