If you guys can stick through it, I think watching Seven Samurai and then compare it to The Magnificent Seven.
Thanks for the recommendations guys. I really appreciate it and I'm looking forward to more recommendations.
Great suggestion! I've seen both, but that was well over 25 years ago. Putting those on the to-watch list!
I've heard of that series. Can you describe it or give me a short synopsis? Is it like a violent western or more on the comedic western?
Ooh. Another great suggestion. I've been meaning to watch the original Django. That's going on the to-watch list!
Yeah, we watched that a few weeks ago. Clint had some great lines in that movies. Josey Wales: Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?
Newer movies of the same style: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112851/?ref_=nm_knf_i1 Desperado http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285823/?ref_=nm_knf_i2 Once upon a time in Mexico http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104815/?ref_=nv_sr_1 El Mariachi
I did, and it still is. Jack Elam at his funniest, and Suzanne Pleshette always tingles my gootendooter...

Original Django with Franco Nero is great. "Once Upon a Time in the Old West" is an amazing film! It's another film directed by Sergio Leone and scored Ennio Morricone. The film stars Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson, Jason Robards and an Italian Actress. Classic film, but a bit of a slow burner. Trinity series with Terrence Hill is quite popular if you like comedy westerns. Here is a great website dedicated to Speghetti Westerns: http://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Main_Page There are hundreds of films!
Just a suggestion..not Italian or Spanish productions, but John Wayne had a few good films..I think The Gunman and True Grit were a couple of his last..have fun with your Father.
