It is a practice that is done pretty regularly throughout the league:An aging veteran that deserves a chance to play for a contender goes up to the management and asks that he be traded. The management recognizes that he does deserve that chance, and either trades him or they agree to release him. It's kind of early but which veteran do you see demanding a trade in the near future?
I firmly believe Kevin Garnett should, but that's it. He has given absolutely everything to the Minnesota Timberwolves organization, and Kevin McHale has really done close to nothing in return. He has not spent the necessary money or taken a risk to get that team in title contention. KG doesn't just want to win, he deserves it.I think the Sixers should deal Allen Iverson as well, but he won't demand a trade. He loves the Sixers and if it's up to him he will be there for his whole career, win or lose. But it would be best for Allen and the Sixers organization to get rid of him and build around a full youth movement. But like I said, as far as actually demanding a trade, I think Kevin Garnett is the only one that should do it. But then again, I don't know if he will or not due to his great loyalty.
Allen Iverson and Kevin Garnett both need to demand trades. However, They have too much pride to actually do it.They both are in horrible situtations, Neither will win a title with their teams now.
Chris Webber. Minutes ago I read the news that he is unhappy in his role with the Sixers. But I really hope KG finds a winning team. A championship team. In fact: I think of all players in the NBA who didn't win one already, he probably deserves it the most.
Webber definately needs to get outta Philadelphia... Pierce needs to get outta Boston (as much as I love him as a Celtic, he's not going to win a championship there anytime soon with sucha young team)... Also Iverson and Garnett for the obvious reasons....
if things don't go particularly well with the Nets, I could see Clifford Robinson wanting out. he's one of the oldest players in the league, and he deserves a chance to win a ring. In fact, he has he ever won a ring?
It's only a matter of time until you hear Chris Webber publicly bash the Sixers organization, and (hopefully) demand a trade. He is playing horribly, yet still thinks he should be the #1 option on that team over Iverson, and that the offense should revolve around him shooting jumpers from the elbow all night long.KG and AI would be better off with other teams, but both of them are too loyal and would not want to take the easy way out (as they put it) by leaving a sinking ship. They both love their respective cities and franchises, even though their organizations haven't really returned that favor by putting capable supporting casts around them (except for one season each, if even that for Allen).

But let me tell you this: after Uncle Cliffy was banned for 5 games during the playoffs, he doubted that the Nets would want him back, and considered retirement. The Nets decided on giving him a second chance, and he was very grateful about that. Robinson decided to play this season, to "thank" the Nets, and isn't sure what he will do after this one. It could be his last. I really don't think he will leave the organization.

If Grant Hill around the trade deadline said that he wanted out of ORL b/c thing saren't going the right way, I wouldn't be completely suprised.
Kevin Garnett needs to demand a trade and get out of Minnasota. I would love to see him join the Lakers. He's just the player we need to get back to our winning ways so I think he should play out his contract and then sign with the Lakers when it runs out. He deserves to win.Allen Iverson like Garnet has done basically all he could to get Philly a championship but now its time to move on. I think Iverson would fit in perfectly with either the Cavs or Lakers. I believe if the Lakers can't get Garnett Iverson would be another possiblity. The Lakers are in need of a solid pg who can run the floor and play defense and AI is just that player. AI Odom and Kobe would be a great combination. If he were to sign with Cleveland he would be reuniting himself with Larry Hughes and Eric Snow. I believe this would help Lebron out alot.I believe Chris Webber should finish his career in Washington. I would love to see him come back here and play alongside Gilbert Arenas and Antowan Jamison because I think he would fit right in. I also think Coach Eddie Jordan is the right coach for the type of player that he is.
The only thing that makes sense to me is pairing KG with Kobe, but all the other ideas.... no. Just no.

QUOTE (Dagameplayer @ Nov 14 2006, 05:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You don't think Chris Webber would fit in with Washington?
Nope. Webber can't play defense, and I don't think he would like to be a third (or fourth) option. It's the Zero show, and we're all witnesses. Webber is a PF, so that must mean that Jamison would have to come off the bench. I would pick Jamison over Webber in this stage of their careers. And it wouldn't be a good idea to shift Jamison to small forward, because that means that either Stevenson of Butler have to come off the bench, and both are pretty good defenders.I like Webber, but I can't think of a team where he would fit right now. Lakers maybe? Bulls? Or am I reaching?
Okay well let's see:Where coul Chris Webber go & not totally disrupt the offense? Well, nobody said he would have to start. So in that case, I think Utah (yes, utah) would probably be a good place for him. Utah plays a selective running game (one of the most selective in the league), and that would do wonders for his knees. He gets an opprotunity to play for a coach that in my opinion is legendary (Jerry Sloan), a good bench punch with Devin Brown, and could provide some veteran leadership (If he even knows how to do that anymore). That was a load of crap right? I know, but I just wanted to point out that anything could happen in the NBA.

Trevor Ariza does everything that DeShwan does for less money.Hey if Webber got traded, I think he would change. He's just another one of those players that want to hold on to their glory days like mad, but he will soon realize what he isn't capable of doing anymore. I think maybe a change of scenery would be good.Utah still sounds good........

Sloan demands effort, and Webber just doesn't deliver in that aspect, especially defensively. I think the one place he would definitely change his attitude is Detroit, simply because that is his hometown and he has always expressed interest (even recently) playing for the Pistons. Whether or not he'd be a good fit for them, well, that's another discussion...
the only thing is, there's almost no way in hell webber is going to get traded with that horrendous contract.
