Saw rumors that the Avs and Flyers are in on him, and that he wants to play D. Couple that with the potential WPG fire sale and he could definitely be moved soon.

In terms of need, Buff is a perfect fit here. We've been saying we need both an offensive Dman for the PP, but also a physical Dman with some size. Buff is one of the only guys in the league who excels at both of those aspects. Biggest knock against him which came up last season is that he can be a bit careless with the puck and is prone to turnovers. Screw that, for what he brings to the table I can live with that.

To top it off, he's a right shot. That'll let AV keep is left/right Dman obsession going if we slide him next to Staal.

If we aren't in on any of the C's, this is a move we need to make. 2 more years at 5.2 million. Essentially what D. Boyle would cost but 10 years younger and with about 70 extra pounds
