I dont totally disagree with that with one possible exception, does (and I dont know if he does) Nelson run the offense better and its that better for the team. Or can Mo do that and is he willing to do that?
It's not just a matter of Nelson running an offense better, but can he run a bench unit better? I honestly haven't watched enough of Nelson to really answer this question.
Well, based on 82games.com, Mo is a -7 PER after you subtract the PER that he gives up to his opponents. Nelson is only a -2.2 PER, but that's only because Nelson has a higher PER than Mo. They both give up roughly a 16 PER to their opponents.
Chalmers is probably the closest to Greg Anthony that we will find. But will he accept a bench role? Actually, if Miami signs Lowry, he won't have a choice.
With Curry/Lawson/Parker/Westbrook/Paul etc You should probably have a guy at the PG position that can play some semblance of defense. Chalmers can do that.
I think he would accept if you sell him that he'll get 25-30 min a game, which is what he got in Miami. Interesting note on Chalmers is he went to high school in Alaska, so he's used to being way out here.
I don't think he'll get 25-30. I think maybe 20. Stotts had to grossly overplay Mo and I don't want to see that repeated.
I want to see Dame play around 36 minutes, and some of that will be at shooting guard, but where are you going to find Chalmers 25-30 minutes with so many other guards on our team?
The same way Mo got 25 min a game, except Chalmers would actually deserve them All this said, I could see him ending up starting for Houston if they don't land a star. He'd really help solidify that group. Someone is going to get this guy and be a better team for it.
Chalmers would get 24 minutes behind both Wes and Dame. I personally don't see why so many are down on him.
Haynes just tweeted this : On Mo Williams front, told the free agent guard has no meetings set with other teams: "His only goal is to get something done with #Blazers" Looks like the ball is in the Blazers court and unless Mo's demands are not reasonable then i would count on him being a Blazer again. I know this would not please some fans but i think he is a good fit so after he re-signs this will leave the MLE (5.3m) and BAE (2m~)
Ira Winderman @IraHeatBeat Why Norris Cole's $2M could be dealt for cap space: The likes of Jameer Nelson now there possibly for the vet minimum. Actually a smart move for the Heat
But Mo got all those minutes because there was literally nobody else to play them. Next season we should HOPEFULLY have CJ in the rotation. And I think that Will has earned some consistent minutes. Plus there's always a chance we will sign a wing, so I don't think there's going to be the minutes available that were there last season.
