I think that's too much for him.

He's been healthy two full years. I could be wrong in 6 months, but health-wise, he's trending in the right direction.

Greg Monroe looks a lot like Meyers Leonard on D. Guy is as clueless as Harden. Not a fan of this move unless especially if it means were trading LMA

I think there is something else but Quick tweeted this:

Jason Quick: Agent David Falk said Blazers and GM Neil Olshey may have lost RFA Roy Hibbert, but they gained "human capital"

If Blazers get Monroe, his nickname should be Human Capital. :)

So lets say Detroit want TRob, CJ, Meyers, Wright and a future first round pick. Do we do that? Its an awful lot to give up, I'd try to first hold out for only one of CJ or the pick. But even if we have to give up all of that I still like our roster more afterwards than what we got now. We'd retain the MLE. With the lack of bigs in this league I think even on a max contract Monroe is tradeable down the road if need be. People also have to remember as Monroe is coming off a rookie contract a max contract for him is about $8 million a season less than Carmello.

    Rolo/Freeland/ vet min
    LMA/Monroe/Clavier
    Batum/MLE / BAE
    Wes/Barton/Crabbe
    Dam/Mo/ vet min

If they trade for Monroe and he gets near the MAX, Aldridge has to be gone, right?

    Lillard/Aldridge/Monroe/Batum

Um, that's a lot of big contracts

that's just a lot of luxury tax

I think Paul Allen would go over, but not by a whole lot.

This is getting interesting if the rumors for Monroe are true

Yeah TRob is a fan favorite of mine too but at some point you have to cash in the young potential for established starters. With the three of those there is no room for TRob even if he is playing exceptional. Chemistry is important so a roster needs to be built so there aren't hard feelings for the guys out of the rotation.

Yeah that would be a great bonus. When LaMarcus went out for that stretch last year it was not pretty. We can't count on Lopez to give us 82 games. With Monroe we could even give a guy a night off Spurs style for maintenance if need be.

Yes. We can't give up a starter for Monroe. We would also be paying Monroe a max contract, his value above a max contract is not equal to one of our starters.

Lillards extension won't kick in for two years. Monroe's max contract is much smaller as he's coming off a rookie deal. The salary cap is expected to go way up when the new TV contract revenue kicks in. We might have to pay a bit of luxury tax but it wouldn't be anything crazy in my opinion. With that new TV deal coming maybe Neil is looking at it as locking in an expense before the market goes way up.
