I actually wasn't encouraging him to leave. It just doesn't seem like this is the type of forum he is looking for.

Wouldn't it have been much easier to just pm a mod or Denny and suggest whatever you want to suggest rather than muck up a basketball forum with it? This idea should never be a thread on the Blazer site. I know you love controversy cmeese but....come on man. The idea of this thread is basically what destroyed the old fansite

Relax I am sure one day you will get your wish and I can be added to the growing ban list.

It will be unfortunate if that happens.

Well said. Some of us witnessed that with O-Live as well.

No the old fansite died because the people who were paid to moderate failed to do their jobs. Furthermore, it died because the Blazers showed no interest in promoting content on that site.

Really you suggested I leave just a few minutes ago and that was not the first time you have done so, but the thought of seeing me banned is unfortunate, well that is good to know.

See, not having any moderating on a site is bad. I'm glad we agree on this.

I don't like to ban anyone. I go to great lengths not to. It would be unfortunate if I had to ban you.

I never suggested otherwise, I just find permanently banning posters to be a poor practice.

Maybe we should just let people say whatever they want. If personal attacks became legal, it would decrease their impact. We could all call each other jerks and assholes and it would be fine because it would be an agreed upon environment. I post at a gay forum that is anonymous and everyone trashes each other and no feelings are hurt. It's just the way things are there and it's fun. I know I've complained about personal attacks in the past but maybe we should take this other route.

No. The attacks derail threads. It gets old, tiresome and people refuse to let it go. There are arguments going on in the Blazer forum on Oregonlive that have spanned a decade.

No one leaves because we don't allow personal attacks and insults. People will if we do. Including me.

It was just a thought that I've seen work at Datalounge. The first time I was dissed, it hurt, but then I saw it was how everybody treated everybody and it made the whole forum more fun. Maybe the threads wouldn't derailed if people just came out with it and moved on. I don't know. I guess the difference though is that Dataliunge is anonymous. People know who I am here on S2.

Simple solution (not directed at anyone) police yourself, have your opinion, voice it but don't be an ass about it. Realize that nothing we post about the Blazers, absolutely nothing, changes what the Blazers, owner, management, coaches or players will do. No point in getting riled up when nobodies opinion matters except for the simple sake of conversation.

Brief summary, don't be an ass nobodies opinions count for shit.

Hahaha true. I wanted Andrew Bynum last summer and wasted a lot of energy arguing for that.
