Smith will be ok with this team. More shooting is fine by me.

While it's still an early juncture of the free-agent period, following its thorough presentation, the organization is brimming with confidence about the possibility of acquiring the scorer, and though he arrived in Chicago already holding the Bulls in high esteem amongst his suitors, Anthony came away from the meeting with a reinforced belief that the Bulls are indeed a worthy candidate to lure him away from New York, the same league source explained.

    http://www.nj.com/knicks/index.ssf/..._bulls_in_carmelo_anthony_sign-and-trade.html

Carmelo Anthony has already made his trip to Chicago and moved on to Texas, but the Bulls still remain a favorite to get him if he doesn't return to the Knicks.

But if the Knicks want to do a sign-and-trade with the Bulls to get something back for Anthony, they don't want forward Carlos Boozer back, according to ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.

"The Bulls would want to include Boozer in such a deal because it would allow them to avoid amnestying him and his $16.8 million salary and would also enable them to pay Anthony more money," he wrote. "But the Knicks, according to sources, will not cooperate with any plan that involves them taking back Boozer."

Boozer is coming off his 12th NBA season and averaged 13.7 points per game and 8.3 rebounds. The aforementioned contract ($16.8 million) is a lot to stomach, but it expires after 2014-15. If the Knicks thought they could use that as a trading chip or as some relief for 2015-16 to bring in big-name free agent, Boozer would have value. But it sounds like president Phil Jackson isn't interested.

Though sources indicated the Bulls didn't discuss money much with Anthony, team officials remain confident they can make the financials work. This has been, after all, the organization's main focus and plan since the day management pulled the trigger on the Luol Deng trade to the Cavaliers in January.

Windhorst said on ESPN tonight that NY would take Boozer. Said it is just public posturing to get the Bulls to come up with something else.

    I doubt it.

No amnesty for Boozer. Literally, "I'll play these."

    K.C. Johnson ‏@KCJHoop 1h

Bulls' visit with Gasol in LA indication of more realistic option than Anthony. Bulls connected with Anthony but Knicks considered faves.

So...KC letting us down easy. That's fine. Melo wanted to be admired and will take the money. Cool. The FO did a good job pitching the Bulls organization and players to him.

Now on to other things. Pau should not be next. Love should be.

Organizations win championships. My bad. No they don't.

Max contracts pay the rent for the penthouse.

    Woj on Fox sports:

Woj said his sources tell him the Bulls are still in #1 position to land Carmelo IF he leaves Knicks. Houston still thinks they have a shot though.

Latest news before his visit to LA

Still, a source with knowledge of the situation told Sporting News that Anthony has not, in fact, made any decisions. “He still has got an open mind,” the source said. “The Knicks have always been on the list, that is where his home is, that hasn’t changed. But there have not been any decisions made.”

If the Lakers have a max contract on the table this could provide the Bulls more leverage in a S & T if Melo decides he wants to come here. (He'll have the ability to walk out and get the max if the Knicks don't sign him).

Take boozer and pay $50M in salary and tax... Or let Melo go to a shitty team for nothing.

Why wouldn't they call his bluff?
