With the ridiculous prices NBA players are getting, I think the only reasonably-priced free agents are going to be those coming from overseas, who are just happy to be paid regularly. But screw Bassy: how about one of the most exciting guards playing in Europe for the past few seasons?
@ChrisBHaynes: Free agent point guard Sebastian Telfair and Oklahoma City reach agreement, league sources inform @CSNNW http://t.co/QLqDRlcBzy #ThankYouXenu Now that's a 5'11" pile of meh.
Aren't most 3rd string PG's. He had his moments for the Clippers, Suns and Raptors. Definitely has been around the block. (And by block I mean world.) But OKC usually makes solid acquisitions when it comes to their PG's.
Lets do this we can trade Lillard, Matthews, Batum, Aldridge and Lopez for 7-8 first round picks. That way we can bring in: Steve Blake S. Telfair Trade CJ and Robinson for Webster Jarryd Bayless Dante Cunningham Luke Babbitt Josh McRoberts Channing Frye We can trade Leonard and Barton for Jermaine O'neal too While we are at it Greg Oden can be our Marquee signing.
It's funny that some people get seriously depressed over the whole Roy/LaMarcus/Oden trio dying before it's time..to me, I get depressed and almost like "aah fuck it. I'm done" when forced to look back on players that the team had that were absolute crap. It might be that I just hate looking back on what 'could've been' or the team 'should've done'...but also just look at that list of shit-can players.
Portland fans are hilarious. Ex-blazers that are in some instances fine players in the nba are scrubs or shit players. But Thomas Robinson, Cj McCollum and will Barton are future all stars that will land us an upgrade
Its weird some peoples fondness for the past, what did those teams ever accomplish. Nothing not a single player available now was on the last Blazer team to have any playoff success. Steve Blake sucked in his prime and now he is 34 and people are clamoring to bring him back. Man I tell you, I have no idea how we ever lived without the 8.9 points and 4.7 assists Steve contributed over 29 mins a game for 4 seasons. Mo Williams averaged 9.7 and 4.3 in 24.8 mins a game last season.
I agree in that you would obviously rather bring back Mo than get Blake. That's not even a question. However, Blake and Frye fit very well in stotts scheme and love Portland. They want to be here.
InsideHoops.com NBA @InsideHoops Guard Sebastian Telfair will sign with Oklahoma City Thunder: http://po.st/zFwMNo
Completely agree, I couldn't stand Blake. Granted, Nate and Roy had their hand in that but I just don't think he's a real PG, just a triangle fit and stay out of the way guy. He wouldn't do anything in a Stotts offense IMO. Frye, on the other hand, has had some success since he left and clearly improved his game in some ways. (mostly post defense and setting good picks)
What scheme is that play zero defense and take a lot of jumpers. Steve Blake shot a robust 37% from the field last season. While I would not hate Channing Frye I would much rather save the 5 million it will take to sign him and let Meyers shoot.
One good quarter in 4 years, we might as well see what Miles is doing he scored like 47 points in a single game
