Apparently the Pacers want to "upgrade" their PG (that Kawhi Leonard deal not looking so great now) and are targeting Goran Dragic. You can see why the Suns wouldn't do that, but you can also see that Dragic AND Bledsoe together might not work long term. The Suns also drafted a very-well-thought-of PG, to the surprise of many. I just wonder if we could get in there and end up with George Hill. I think he would be a great third guard (sort of what I wanted Shaun Livingston for), because he's big enough to hold his own against shooting guards but has PG skills. And best of all, he's a very good defender, something you can't really say about any of our guards (except Wesley, of course, but he has no PG skills whatsoever). Would the Suns be interested in Meyers, perhaps (to replace Channing Frye, when he comes to Portland)? Anyone interested?

I can see some interest there depending on 2 things, 1) the cost to acquire him and 2) has he accepted that he will have to come off the bench. If those 2 things work out I actually think he could be a great fit

However I suspect that both 1 and 2 are quite iffy

    No NO NO NO NO.

In my estimate, he was the worst starting PG in the playoffs last year. And he's a bottom 5 starting PG in the whole league. Fans here in Indy wanted CJ Watson to take all his minutes, and attributed the team's slide in late season to his injury and Hill taking all the PG minutes.

    Stay the fuck away

So you dont feel that changes if he is coming off the bench? Honest question. He seems solid where was the problem?

    WRONG.

And that's why Indy had to switch Paul George onto Teague/Wall in the playoffs, while Hill was guarding scrubs? Dame absolutely torched the guy because he didn't have the foot speed to guard quicker PGs.

    No interest whatsoever.

He gets paid 8 mil a year through 2017.

He would be our third highest paid player. Don't waste that on George Hill.

    Compared to Mo for example:

It seems like Mo is better at offense and assists but Hill is far superior at defense and they both hit the three at about the same rate

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Hill is a decent player, but overpaid. He'd make a nice bench player, but is paid far too much for a good bench cog.

Ya people really sweep that horrible Leonard for Hill move (and his 40 mil/5yr extension) under the rug and don't criticize it enough. KP struck out with that one.

Fair enough. I didn't watch many Indy games. HOWEVER, over the season, CJ Watson only played 18.7 mpg, while Hill played 36, and Indy did have the best record in the East...

I don't understand "Win Shares" but Hill's are pretty drastically better than Mo's.

Wouldn't trade a big man for a second or third string point guard, unless
there was no more available. And there are plenty in free agency, plus
Hill makes too much for the Blazers.

I'd much rather have George Hill than Mo Williams. I'd be fine with his contract if we don't have to give up CJ, TRob, Billy Barton or a draft pick. We have the room under the luxury tax for that contract and it ends before a Lillard extension takes effect.

I have never watched a Pacers game and come away impressed with George Hill. The guy just seems so average. Definitely not worth the contract he's currently getting.

Did you see our last loss in Indiana? Hill scored 38 points. Not impressed?

Actually it was 37 points. He shot 12 free throws in that game. He averaged 2.3 FTA for the season.

One good game a season makes?

While the Pacers did strike out, to be fair, San Antonio loved Hill too. He was reportedly Pop's favorite player and he hated to lose him. I don't think even San Antonio, or any observer, expected the trade to end up that lopsided.

Charlotte beat us by 40, does that mean we should trade rosters with them?
