"I don't want to dwell on it. We know why we're changing it (but) to me it does no good for a coach to break down every little thing," Mitchell said Monday. "I just think it's necessary maybe to give us a little jump start." Peterson left practice without speaking to reporters and Jones said he could understand his teammate's disappointment. "Everybody wants that opportunity," said Jones. "I'm a little upset it had to come this way, when we're not playing so well."</div> Are you serious? Mo-Pete is the 2nd best player on the team, he's an iron-man, very reliable, etc. I don't know wtf Mitchell is thinking. This is absured, IMO. Jones is a good player, a good defender, but to bring Peterson off the bench because of that? Wow. What do you Raptors fans think of this?

I was like "wtf, miller off the bench", and now I know why...good shooters such as peterson and miller are great off the bench. Good move IMO.

So, it's a little different. Toronto is not a playoff team, they aren't going to win many games whether they start Mo-Pete or not, they don't have great shooters in the starting 5 now (decent, but nothing like Mo-Pete), and they benched a guy that hasn't missed a game in 4 years and is developing into a 20 point scorer. I don't see why they did this, it's not going to work out IMO. It's not going to win them more ballgames. Plus, like the article states, Peterson was pissed about it. That can't boil over well. Also, Mo and CB4 have good chemistry, and now they won't be able to exploit that to start the game. They don't have a consistant outside threat to start the game. It's going to be all penetration and mid-range. In Memphis, they had 3 other guys that consistantly hit 3's. It's a different situation.

I actually think Fred Jones is better off the bench. Mo started last season off the bench as well and he was not happy about it but just like Jalen Rose he didn't make an issue about it because they both enjoyed the city and didn't think it would be fair for them to whine in complain like some of the other players in the past. By the way T.J. Ford is the second best player on our team he has been great.Jones and Parker can hit three's, and once Bosh shoots more from behind the arc I think he will be good.
Mo takes this serious because he has been with the raptors and no one has struggled more than him. He worked very hard since the Carter and Mcgrady Era to get this spot, to get replaced is kind of a burn to him, but it will teach him to step it up
I guess we do need more energy startinf off games, and I think Fred can provide that. I think this will also motivate Peterson to maybe score more points. His 14.5 ppg average has lower than most expectations. I dont think this lasts long though. I think it is just a short time thing to get us going.I see no problem with it, Celticballa. It will bring us more energy, and maybe more fast break points to start the game off. Peterson will still get his 30 minutes off the bench anyway.
Yeah MoPete will still get the minutes even coming off the bench but im not surprised by this starting roster move as MoPete has been sorta strugglin in the last couple of games and coinicidentally we are on a 2 game losing streak.
I think it's because we've been settling for jumpshots more than taking it to the hoop. I believe we are one of the teams that has the fewest free throw attempts so far. Fred Jones is able to draw fouls, as well as create his own shots. Also, Fred has been way more consistent in terms of shooting %'s.
