<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Texas Tech coach Bobby Knight slapped sophomore forward Michael Prince to get his coaching point across during a timeout in Monday night's game.

Jarrius Jackson led the Red Raiders with 22 points defeating Gardner-Webb 86-74 in the first round of the College Basketball Experience Classic.</div>
[IMG] Bobby Knight, what else is new? I find this kind of funny. Some people will say "that's wrong!" or call it a low class case of "abuse" but that's crap to me. Knight will do anything to get his point across, as we've seen in the past haha.

Their's a fine line between tough and insane, he is flirting with it. I am waiting for the day that a player punches him back.

Knight coaching Artest.

He's got issues obviously. Someday, he'll kill a player.

Haha. Well, it's wrong to a point. But nowadays if someone barely pinches you, they file a lawsuit for "assault." THAT is crap. But yes he definitely has issues, he's a nut. But I don't think this particular incodent is that bad. I mean he didn't wind up and wail the player.

Meh, the kid was looking down at the ground. Tech seems to be a letdown for him. The first year or so they played a lot better under him, last year they didn't make the tourney. They need to get slapped up more if anything.

He didn't slap him. He pushed his chin up, big deal. I don;t even know why I watched a half hour special on this crap at 3 on ESPN. It's a bunch of nonsense. The kid didn't care, his family didn't care..Knight and the university obviously don't care..so who is anybody else to say it's a huge deal? This is so stupid it's not even funny. Now, when you talk about things he's done previously..choking a player, throwing a chair into a group of students, head butting his own player...that's different. But this time..dude moved his chin up when he looked at the ground. Get over it!

I think they should make a rule where a coach cannot touch a player unless its like a pat on the back or like a head rub.. or a hug... or something less abusing. He didnt care this time, but knight needs to start disciplining himself before he disciplines others.

I really dont see what this is all about. Its not as if Bobby Knight grabbed his ball and ripped them out, or as if he grabbed his a**. all he did was slap his own player with justification, since it was clear that he was not paying attention to what he was saying. When one is on a team, one must live by the rules, and must see the coach as a father figure. And in real life, a father can slap their child. In addition, if I was ever able to play in the NCAA I know that I woudl never make a big deal out of this, and would actually be grateful that I had such a great opportunity.

For me, this is no big deal. People are just blowing this up because it is Knight. If you looked he didnt slap him that hard, from atleast what I saw. Also the kid who he slapped and his parents both said they are fine with it, so I dont see why this is even a big deal. But then again if he did say he had a problem with it, he wouldnt say anything because he would probely not play anymore or lose his scholarship.

Just because it's Knight, people are making a big deal. He pushed his chin up so he'd look him in the eyes. No big deal at all. If people have a problem with that then they should have Barney as a coach. He'll give you a hug.

This is just getting out of hand now, if you look at ESPN.com its the head article on the front page. I accually turned off ESPN because all they talked about was this.

People who criticize Bobby knight for this probably didnt see it. It was just a light slap to get the players attention. It's not a big deal in my opinion. Knight made it clear that he was just trying to get the player's attention, and he wasnt trying to harm him.

It's Bobby Knight. If he needs to push a kids chin up to get his attention, and get his head in the game. GOOD. Big deal, media makes such a big deal out of nothing because its Bobby Knight..

Right when I watched the footage I knew it was blown out of porportion. If Coach K had done this, it wouldn't even been on the news. If a coach did this to me, I wouldnt think of anything of it. THis whole thing is stupid, ESPN spent like 75% of sportcenter the past few days talking about this, and all they talked about is that it wasnt a big deal.

ehhh....Bobby will be Bobby. Nothing new in my eyes. After you see a coach throw a chair across the floor, nothing else seems that bad.
