Tells me Hughes thinks Meyers is another season from being a true backup off the bench.

I think Will Barton will be better than Livingston soon

I'd be shocked if that happened since they are under the cap they don't have the MLE ;P But they could offer him a contract for more than $3.2 million which we cannot match.

He is a season away from being a season away. (almost what Fran Frashilla said)

Now he's just calling people douches on twitter. The troll is strong with Chris Kaman who claims he is a member of the NRA and PETA.

Well he did choose to sign with the Lakers (for less money than we just offered him).

I swear if he comes here and has attitude because of minutes like in LA . . . at least it's not a small market thing. I remember not liking Kaman because he has an attitude about minutes, but looking around I think my perception about that is wrong . . . still it hasn't been smooth for him in his last couple of stops.

Thats actually NOT what the contract is for. If that was the intended use then an expiring contract would be more valuable. The contract can be traded after next season but before Jun 30th (such as part of a draft day trade) and then the receiving team can cut Kaman. Its similar to how Toronto acquired Lou Williams for virtually nothing a week ago.

When you think about it, Kaman just basically took Earl Watson's vacant roster spot. We're better already. As is we are amazingly tall across the roster, if Mo leaves even more so. Nic can play the 2 at times and Will wants to be a 6'6 pt guard, Nico is a 6'8 pt forward. Stotts has a lot of options.

Kaman is a solid starter quality center, so it's nice to get a guy like that for your bench. As others have said, his biggest problem has been injuries. Looks like he's missed about half the season for 4 years straight.

But his per 36 numbers look really good and haven't been in decline. He doesn't hit 3s, but his FG% on the mid range shot is much better than LAs.

Thanks for clarifying . . . but his contact could be used in a favorable trade for the Blazers, just at the end of the year right? And if they can't use his contract he will only cost the Blazer 1 million on the cap next year. Right?

Why hasn't anyone photoshopped Kaman in a Blazers jersey yet?

You're my favorite poster. Is Watson gone, by the way? Where did he go?

    I like this signing!
I like him better than Hawes, don't want another stretch whatever. Kaman is a solid big who plays inside and gives very efficient production, an upgrade over Freeland in the short-term and giving him a short contract means Freeland could take his place in a year or two.
I like this signing very much! I think it's a good, solid not-populistic move. Now we need a good bargain backup-PG and we're set. Good Job, Neil!

His contract is up and he's looking at coaching.

I'd love it if we went bigger instead of 6'1" and 6'3" in the backcourt so often.

My dream backup PG would be big enough to play alongside Lillard, a solid defender, good decision maker and a pass-first team-oriented player.

Good fit, right price and we weren't going to attract a 20 minute spot-starter. Does this mean that Leonard or Freeland is gone? Maybe Leonard moves to PF?
