    Re: Kaman a Blazer

All respect warranted, these are real nice talking points. My problem is I have yet to see one creative bone out of this GM's body. He hasn't showing it in three years in the draft. It's not up to us come up with scenarios of what we might have done. Go back to 06 and remember how much creativity was involved to pull off the deal to bring the pick that eventually landed us Roy. How many of us really thought, Portland could have and would have pulled that off? How many of us thought something like that was possible? It was a surprise then, it is a surpise today. My problem is Neil hasn't suprised me with anything. He however has taken managing by default to all new level. There is nothing innovative about him. To thus point.

Ok so someone explain how adding a legit career starting center with PER of 17 and went for 19 and 12 per 36 last season, doesn't improve our team. Is Hawes better? Maybe but if we wod have had to send assets to get him, then there us subtraction involved.

Think of it this way, Kaman just pushed Leonard to 3rd string C and also pushed Freeland to 3rd string PF while taking Aldridge an Robinson away from having to play C at all. Anytime you take an existing player and move him down on the depth chart because of adding a better player you have made your team better. Its not the sexiest signing but its a damn smart signing.

All I have to say is don't be so quick to approve. It doesn't hurt for this kat and organization to be challenged a lil bit. Not every move they make has to be considered genius. And to me this wasn't

What team are you watching? Grabbing Lopez and Robinson for 2nd rounders and cash wasn't creative? Improving the team from a 33 win team to a 54 win team wasn't all that impressive?

I like what I see, even if he's on the downside of his career. I think he's still borderline starter material when healthy and in shape, and will definitely shore up our 2nd unit. Last season, when Aldridge went out of the game, we had zero post presence in terms of scoring. Now we have a legit threat and more help for our 2nd unit defense. Solid signing. The other guys were intriguing, but I like this. I'm only concerned about his age and injury history.

I'm not the kind of poster that approves of moves because i sip the bs hype like gospel. What are you expecting Neil to do land Lebron in a 5 team deal... that would be creative. Creativity doesn't necessarily equate to success.

How much of this was Olshey and how much was it Morey who was motivated to dump salary? Honestly, at the time was the Lopez deal considered a genius. I didn't think so. And I think if you ask Neil that whole deal worked out better than we would have ever dreamed of

    Re: Kaman a Blazer

Not all of these are Full MLE players, but I would rather have any of these formthe same contract that Kaman agreed to. Now that all we have is the BAE, all these players are out of the price range.

    Collison
    Ed Davis
    Jordan Hill
    Livingston
    McRobberts
    Mike Miller
    Okafor (if healthy)
    Patrick Patterson
    Sefalosha
    Sessions
    PJ Tucker
    Turner
    Marvin Williams
    Nick Young

Yes I do. I'm not governed by 'limiting beliefs' on this town and team

    Why wouldn't you expect it?

He is an empty stat player. He scores, but he also gives up more than he scores.

I really dont believe he makes the bench any better.

    Re: Kaman a Blazer

Sam Bowie at the time was considered a good pick.... So was Greg Oden. but now the at the time is irrelevant due the reality. Lopez at the time was a good grab we needed a center, the reality is it ended up being a very good pickup. So this strange reality you are construing where you elect to be underwhelmed is odd. You are justifying the lack of good job by Olshey based on how you felt at the time of acquiring Lopez. How do you feel in the hindsight of reality?

This might not be an exciting signing, but I think as long as he stays healthy, Kaman will be a great signing. Wish he were a bit better on D though.

    Re: Kaman a Blazer

So you want a GM who provides instant fan gratification on his moves?

I'm fine with a boring GM who makes the right choices. How many Spurs moves have been creative and impressive the day they happened?

    Re: Kaman a Blazer

I'm glad we don't have Turner or Nick Young on this team; those guys are selfish ball hogs.

All of the other names would cost more guaranteed salary than Kaman. Neil wants to keep the cap clean for next summer. Historically giving guaranteed money to bench players is the reason for most overpaid difficult to move contracts.

Yeah there's definitely concerns I have with Kaman. But we have Freeland who is a good defensive second unit center. Kaman gives us a different type of look if we are in need of offense from the bench. It was an issue last season.

Lets just hope the young guys step up. Im in Bama so its hard to catch some of the games. What do you guys think of Crabbe and McCollum? Will they be any good or were they another waste on picks?

That's the big question for me: how good is his defense.
I haven't seen enough of him to answer it myself. I don't expect him to be Lopez but is he more of a Joel (Pryzbilla, Freeland) or more of a LaMarcus in that aspect?

I was very underwhelmed to begin with but Chris Kamans Twitter is making up for that. Guy is pretty damn funny.
