...with the exception of the goalie Tim Howard, USA did not show up.

It was amazing they had a glorious chance to both win the game at the end of regular time and also to tie the game in extra time. Howard had to stand on his head throughout the game as this one could've easily been a 4-0 loss.

Sad.... I honestly thought Team USA had a chance prior to the game!

I also did not expect the Brits to go home after their 1st game.

So who is going to win this thing, the powers to be, in the beginning kept saying Portugal, (I don't follow Soccer too much), but I'd expect a South American Team to take it all....!!!

Preferably Argentina, (yet I don't even know if they're still in it).....

Haven't seen the News, yet I'm assuming Germany vs. Brazil, goes to show Host Countries Cheat, (just wait for the Russia-Bejing Like Olympics)....and secondly, the Colombian Cocaine Cartels no longer exists, or have lost any and all power...

My guess is the prior.....seems they've all fled to MeJico...!

The Brits have been consistently disappointing and Rick, Argentina is very much alive.

Argentina is still in it, they play Sat, 7/5

There's been 19 World Cups in all - Uruguay has won 2 ('30, '50), Argentina has won 2 ('78,'86), and Brazil has won 5.
Five different European teams (countries) have won the rest of the Cups with Italy winning 4.

    Thank You very much...bridesagain...!!!

I'm a bit partial to Argentina Soccer. When my late little brother began playing AYSO, his coaches were all 4 Argentina immigrants. I have NEVER seen anyone play so gracefully, dramatically, doing things with their feet, and heads, I had only seen Pele do on TV.

I know the Euro Nation's live and die for Futbol, yet, those Argentinians left a deep impression, born with soccer balls in the womb.
