Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Shaquille O'Neal was dominated, but he wasn't impressed.Yao Ming won his matchup with O'Neal, finishing with 34 points and 14 rebounds Sunday night to lead the Houston Rockets to their fourth straight victory, 94-72 over the Miami Heat ."He's pretty much the same, just big, 7-6," O'Neal said. "He's just doing what he's supposed to do.""My only chance against Shaq is to keep him on the run," Yao said. "Shaq is much stronger and bigger than me. My only chance on beating him is to keep running and running against him."Every time I score on him I was happy like a kid, like a kid getting candy on Halloween because it's really too hard to score on him, too hard. He's just great."</div>It figures, Shaq needs to learn when to shut up. I lost respect from him when he dissed Rick Barry's playing career and I lost a bit more now. Sounds like he is mad because Yao Ming destroyed him in the Rockets-Heat game.
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance Typical Shaq. When Andrew Bynum schooled him on one play last year (spin, dunk) Shaq got mad and pushed him. When the Lakers lost the championship to Detroit, he made the Kobe/Shaq fued worse and demanded a trade. When Yao Ming finally is the better player, and he proves it, Shaq gives no credit. What were you expecting? Shaq to say "Yao is definitely a great player. He has my number now." Shaq will never say that. In his mind, Yao is just another "earthling" and he dominates the world.
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance I agree with Shaq, I am also not impressed by Yao's performance, like he said hes just doin wat he has to do and that is be dominant. If your 7' 6" and making millions of money u better eb kicking soem ass. I have always been desapointed by Yaos play, and even now doubt it and criticise it to a certain extent
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance Shaq is an ***hole sometimes. He shouldnt say that when he just got pwned. It doesn't make him look very good. Just acknowledge Yao's dominance in that game,d ont try to downplay everything other players do.

Shaq = old, jealous tosser. He cant realise that Yao is the future of the centre position, and the future is now. Shaq is the past.

A player even of Yao's stature isnt suppossed to score 34 and 14 on one of the best players of all time who is over 340 pounds. Even though Shaq is on the decline, he is a very big body and he is only 4 inches shorter than Yao. Honestly, I would be impressed but only since its on Shaq and only because he absolutley dominated last years NBA Champs. If he did that agaisnt a guy like Jamal Magloire, I would say that he is suppossed to do that. But Shaq is different. And Shaq needs to learn to grow up and give the man is do. Shaq got dominated...that simple and he isnt a big enough man to admit it.
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance Even his comments now are starting to piss me off, sometimes their funny but comments like this are just stupid :no3:
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance Typical Shaq. He can never admit he's been outplayed or passed. Yao has surpassed Shaq both offensively and defensively. Anyone who thinks shaq is better is just living in denial. Yao>shaq.
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance Did anyone else notice the OTHER comment from Yao?"He wasn't the same Shaq tonight as he was during the playoffs last year," Yao said. "That was a totally different Shaq out there."Of course I'm betting people are going to blow this off, but let's remember that Shaq WAS out with a knee problem. Ever had a knee contusion? I've had a thigh contusion before and that thing was a PAIN. It really does inhibit the ability to move and be effective. There's no way ANYONE can be 100% effective on either defense or offense with a knee contusion. Now even though I'm a Shaq fan I'm not going to say he's still at a level where he's going to plow through people and totally dominate, but let's not pretend he's only at the level his current stats would imply. He's averaging 14 pts, 7 reb, and 1 assist a game in 4 games. He put up 21 and 9 in the New Jersey game, but has struggled since because of his knee. Does anyone REALLY think Shaq will end the season with those averages?I definitely think Yao deserves credit for how he's been playing, but I think that we have to see Yao with a completely back T-Mac and Shaq completely back with D-Wade to really see how they compare. Yao's probably surpassed Shaq as a center, I won't deny that that's probably the truth now. But Yao is also in a position where he HAS to be the major emphasis while T-Mac gets back into playing form, while Shaq is hurt and has D-Wade as the major emphasis. I think that if we base Yao and Shaq on this one game we make too hurried a judgment. Also, it's not like Shaq said he had a lucky game. And to say that Yao is ONLY five inches taller is a little silly, since there's definitely a big difference between 6' and 6'5", and Shaq is listed as 7'1" and Yao's 7'5". Shaq said Yao did what he was supposed to, which is true. Yao had BETTER average better than 20 and 10, since he's been hyped as the next big center for a while and he hasn't delivered. Last year he showed glimpses of it when he actually played, but remember that before last season Yao had career averages of 16 and 9. Shaq has his FIRST season not averaging a double/double (in his 14th season) and he gets very disrespected, while last year was Yao's FIRST year of averaging a double/double (in his 4th season, and he didn't even play the full season) and everyone suddenly declares him the greatest. So to end it, yes I think Yao has probably surpassed Shaq (notice that Yao is currently 26, Shaq is 34) and is due for a monster year. Shaq will not be the focal point of a team anymore, but again he's not trying to be. Shaq didn't say anything overly disrespectful, but gets tons of negative attention. I think that's a little unfair.
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance Wow what a fagget how could you discredit his play how about that guy Sun Sing Ming or somethine he is 8 ft. but is he dominating no. Shaq is old, fat, jealous fag to me.
Re: Shaq Not Impressed By Yao's Dominance Shaq will never give Yao Ming any credit because he's an ass who never gives credit to anyone but himself. Still love the guy though.
