Well we traded a LH head case for a RHer that actually was a head case. Apparently he has recovered from the trauma and is supposedly regaining his previous form. Maybe his knowledge of the A's comes in handy, lol!

McCarthy only has upside. Nuno isn't going to get any better this year.

 

Isn't McCarthy like 5-20 over his last two seasons with an ERA near 5? Yeah, he's going to be a MAJOR upgrade.

 

Not sure you can look at stats Alone in McCarthy's case. The guy was hurt pretty bad. He's got guts, and guts we need.

No, but I could have thrown a bunch of saber metrics at you that say he's much better than his current ERA.

...no, not really...anyone can pick stats...how about that awesome 75 ERA + ?...or the WHIP that is nearly 1.40...or a WAR of -.5 ... or the .298 BAA...or the 5.01 ERA?
