Its a strange world, they went from worst to first & now from 1st to worst. Gotta love it. The 1st to worst part.

As M. Sambrato once posted: Schadenfreude Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.

Unfortunately it would have more benefitted the Yankees had the Bostons swept that series. Did get a huge chuckle out of Big Sloppi going against the shift then called out as he tried to go to second!

Last place in 2012 - currently in last place and certainly one of the worse teams in the league for the most part this season....gee whiz, I see a pattern --- maybe those "good clubhouse fiery guys" they picked up last year were nothing but slightly better than average/journeymen players who took a ride in the perfect storm.
Never thought last year's Redsox were "that good", but Fat Papi rose to the occasion and was better than ever - his grand slam vs Detroit in the playoffs was probably the hit which set off the "storm".

so they basically they just alternate last place finishes and WS titles

    I'd take that

instead brainless cashman has us mired in consistent mediocrity

...yes, because 1 WS title sandwiched in between 2 bad years is clearly a pattern.

Bobby Valentine hired Bayou Mom-ba to cast a voodo spell on doze boyz....they deserved it. Taking the Bambino's curse to lightly these days...! Disrespectful Bums, deserve to live in the dungeon...!!!

Now, if they'd only part with Pedroia, tho' I heard, Dustin would never play in NY...?

Yankees need to get a 2nd baseman like Altuve in Houston. Love the way that kid plays, got a great attitude, credits his team mates.

This whole charade would really be much more enjoyable if they didn't have a World Series title to show for it, as far as I'm concerned. Hard to enjoy schadenfreude when the team is the defending World Series champion.

Their true talent is somewhere between 2013 and 2014. If Jim Leyland wasn't a shithead, the schadenfreude would be much better.

Altuve played here for the Lancaster JetHawks (A-CA. Lg.) a few years ago, and was one scatty scrappy player, fielder, and hit for a high average too...!

Yes indeed - it WAS time for Leyland to pack it in.
Pulling his ace pitcher/s when they were sailing along and bringing in lousy bullpeners became a bad habit.

I'm curious, what SN did you use to post under? I mean the most recent?

I would love to see the Bosox continue this torrid pace to hell, for the eternity of time, a one way ticket...!

Bring back Bobby Valentine, to decimate the team for the next decade....please, (though I don't give Valentine the entire credit for the Teams woes in his tenure)....

Actually, I don't dislike Valentine at all. Altho' his TX teams so often were in 1st place at the AS break, then would wilt, year after year.

I do gotta hand some credit to Valentine for our Infamous wonderful Subway Series. We all waited out entire lives for as much....a "Subway Series"...! Nothing better than a NY-NY W.S.....!!! Now if the Giants & Jets could get their shit together, or the Rangers & Islanders (not ever going to happen again in the NHL, NFL, or NBA)....! Hell, the way the Mets are going, it may be another 50+ years before we see another Subway World Series....!

If only Brooklyn's Net's, and the Knicks could get their shit together, but hell will freeze over, and we'd all be 200 years old before both NBA Teams ever become contenders again....!

C'mon fess up, you can run but you can't hide.....It's improper Msg. Bd. etiquette to hide behind a SN, or use alternating SN's.

hide and seek, is for Kids, so is Trix....Not Holy Flying Cheetos tho'....ever seen a "Flying Burrito"...?

OT: Trivia Q- what was "Flying Burrito" a slang name for.....anyone got a guess....?
