    Put in 2 parts.........

#1) Which player played for ALL original NY teams?

#2) Who played for 4 different teams in the same season?

    And again............................don't cheat.

Is this your answer for part 1, part 2 or both?

Wait- Rick #1 to me means ALL Original NY Teams, not Franchises: (it can be construed 2 ways, IMHO)...

    Otherwise-

    We got: The Originals: -

    Wee Willie Keeler
    Waite Hoyt
    Tonzy Lazzeri
    Sal Maglie
    Burleigh Grimes
    Fred Merkle

and I know there were more than few more than just these 6, I know I've seen a section in my hardcover- MLB Encylcopedia, (been buried in boxes so deep I haven't looked at it in years, I got to find that monster)...IN IT, there is a chapter dedicated just to the Men of All 3 Original NY Teams, albeit.....
    NY Yanx
    NY Giants
    Brooklyn Bums

Rob, ALL original NEW YORK teams also includes the NY Mets. And none of the guys you mentioned ever played for the Mets.

I misunderstood the question as it gave me the impression that the players needed to have played for said teams while they were in NY which I didn't think was possible...

See, I disagree, an Original Team is not a Franchise. The Bums and Giants, were "Original" before they moved, and became ex-NY Franchises, Kingman played on the West Coast Franchisees too.

The Mets, to me would be a matter of semantic, ORIGINAL, No, they're a new Franchise,

guess its IS a matter of semantics, ie, what does ONE consider THE ORIGINAL Teams, to me its just that, Original 1st said MLB Location. Not 1st Franchise, or would've have to split hairs, with the Highlanders being the O's too....

You see where I'm going, its a curveball Q...IMHO....take care...! I'll be popping in and out for the next 3 days, probably...!

I'm not sure I'm following you Rob, the way I see it is....

    Original Yankees = NEW YORK
    Original Giants = NEW YORK
    Original Mets = NEW YORK
Original Dodgers = NEW YORK (Brooklyn)

Yep, something like that, what I'm saying is simply the ORIGINAL Teams, all began from 1901-1903 or prior.....

Just like in the NHL, when someone asks to name the 8 ORIGINAL Teams, which did not include the Islanders, L.A., tons of others too.... I see this one in the same eye.....

Any team after the Original League formed were expansion Franchises. Once the Giants & Bums moved West, they were originally NY Teams, yes, but the Original was left behind in Brooklyn, & NY.

A thin line to draw, once both SF & L.A. entered the pic, those two teams were moved Franchises, and due to not staying in NY, I don't consider either Original NY Teams, rather old Franchises, that became new cities moved Franchises....

I know its neither here nor there, no biggy my friend....it's a debate that's easy to get lost in where the line is...the grey areas??? That's why I use the "name the original MLB teams in NL & AL, or in the NHL....only 8 NHL Teams. Same applies to the NBA or NFL IMO, and some of my elder friends, just a matter of whether one calls a couch a sofa, divan or flop bucket....LOL. or a skillet, a frying pan, or cast iron pot...
