I feel like Portland is waiting on mo to make a move. I say screw him. If he doesn't wanna be part of the team and try to go get more money than let him and let's grab Blake. An unselfish player who is smart and can hit the three. Mo Williams is all talk, saying he wants to play for Portland. Well than take what we can give you, mo. If you're so loyal to the team. I would rather have Blake honestly. Thoughts?
Olshey and Portland are very closed to the media. Just because you don't hear anything doesn't mean something isn't happening.
I like Mo, but not for 3 more years. If we can't find a better player, I guess I'm okay with him coming back, but I'm not happy with the length of the deal he wants.
As a mentor of the game Mo is great. He really did a great job with Lillard and the other young players and I think that really gets under looked. As a player he can really be hit & miss. I could really give two shits what happens though but Mo was good for the players on this team. If Mo does go I think Kirk Hinrich or Mario Chalmers would be a nice pickup. I don't see the heat letting go of Chalmers though. Jameer Nelson would be interesting if he would settle for a backup role.
I'm hoping for a perimeter defensive pg. Some are mentioning Chalmers. I've mentioned Hinrich. Who would you like as the back-up pg?
Chalmers would be lovely. Not sure we could afford him with the kind of stupid contracts being thrown around this summer.
Heat are definitely keeping chalmers. Kirk Heinrich maybe but I feel like all signs lead to Blake if mo doesn't resign. Yes, mo Williams did good things for Portland this past season but he did drive me crazy at times. Turnovers and shot selection. Fg percentage wasn't good at all. I feel like Blake would be the complete opposite and still be able to mentor Damian and the younger ones. I don't know, I guess I just feel like mo is all talk. Says he wants to stay here but wants a bigger deal basically. He needs to learn his place and understand he's not in Cleveland with lebron still.
Mo has answered your question in his exit interview. He wants some job stability and would love it to be Portland. It's really Mo's decision at this point and we won't know the answer until he's done his exploring. Every free agent does this.
Mo pushes the pace better than Blake. He led the league in assists off the bench, which is needed given Lillard's assist totals. Blazers spent their MLE on Kaman. Hope Mo doesn't take it personally that Blazers put a big man priority over a PG and Blazers shouldn't take it personally that Mo wants to shop a bigger contract than Blazers can offer. I hope they re-sign him.
Whats your definition of purgatory? There was only 7 other teams that got as far as we did last season. So the rest were monumental failures? Go Blazers!
Resigning Mo lets Neil use the BAE on someone other than a backup PG. His salary could be higher than you can sign anyone else. You don't need MLE or BAE to go over the cap to sign him.
My thoughts are the exact opposite. I think Portland would like to put it off as long as possible to see if there is a better option than Mo. Personally I would like to see what happens in the Vegas Sumer league first.
I think they want to put it off as long as possible as well but not to see if there is a better option then Mo but because once we sign Mo it is going to announce the end of any moves to clear up cap space to sign someone else or to trade for someone else. Edit- It could also be that Olshey has given Mo what we would sign him for 3 years 10 and said, you can take this or go try and find more money but at the end of the day this contract will be here waiting.
...Because he can get buckets. when nobody else can. As far as Blake goes, no thanks on the Blazer re-treads.
Because his name is easy to spell? Because he's the only free agent PG in the league who wants to play in Portland who can dribble and chew gum at the same time?
