Cleveland would be a great trading partner IF the Blazers would trade LaMarcus.

Paul Allen does not want to take a step back so it's not going to happen.

If it was Aldridge/Matthews and parts out for Monroe and Wiggins in, there isn't a rebuild and they are good for a LOT longer.

Stupid Olshey will over pay for LaMarcus, the most over-rated blazer of all time.

If the Cavs are going to trade for a PF, Love will come at a much cheaper price.

Not only do we still make the playoffs with that Starting Five, but we become a problem for the rest of the West for YEARS to come.

We know free agents won't sign here, regardless of supporting cast and we just don't have the assets to net a third star. This seems like the perfect re-tool to make us championship contenders for multiple years instead of the one WCF run we may have in a year or two. I've said it before and I've said it again, I'm not comfortable giving LA a five year MAX deal.

Trading our franchise allstar for rookies...don't know about you guys but I don't want to rebuild after the season we just had and why, why would anyone want to make Cleveland better? To each his own but if it were me, I'd move this whole thread to the Cleveland fan site and let it die a quick death. It's like the Rolling Stones wanting to fire Mick Jagger and hire Vanilla Ice because he had a #1 hit...baffles the mind. We've got young talent up to our ears already...give me some serious battle tested bench playing vets at this point

Not sure how Monroe is a rookie.

We did have a good season but we were one miracle, last-second '3' from not winning a series again for the umpteenth year in a row. Aldridge was great for the first 2 games but shot 40% the next nine games. I think Lillard is the leader going forward and just not sure I would invest so much money in a guy from age 30-35 who keeps drifting farther and farther from the basket.

Would it really be so bad if Cleveland won a championship?

yup, it would suck. If LeBron is part of it it would double suck.

Mavs stayed loyal to Dirk, Lakers stayed loyal to Kobe, Spurs stayed loyal to Duncan. (way over the 30-35 age) I want Portland to stay loyal to LA and I want a championship with him as the MVP. Old school. The revolving crap shoot of roster changes gets really old for me. This Blazer team has a chance to be great for another decade.

You think that a championship for the city that houses the Indians and the Browns would be so bad? I can think of worse places.

I'm a Blazer fan and every other team in the league can lose out every year as far as I'm concerned. I'm talking Blazer dynasty, not Cleveland..the only thing I like in ohio is the Rock and roll hall of fame

That is 10+ titles worth to be loyal to. I like Aldridge but he is nowhere near that conversation. They are out of the 1st round once in his entire career. Loyalty to what?

Yeah, Dirk sure didn't and keeping your franchise allstar is the best way to win a championship here in Rip City. Dirk and Duncan also took paycuts to stay competitive. I respect that.

Out of the first round because of an off balance 30 footer with .9 seconds left by Lillard
