http://m.espn.go.com/mlb/story?storyId=11190888 59...I know Georgia and Arkansas are similar, what is your take?
...Pendleton; funny how he claims he knew all along Brian would struggle...if that's true, why didn't he say anything before now? ...Pendleton also first says that McCann "will never be comfortable in NY"...then he turns around and says "I think he will become accustomed to [playing in New York],"...........uhhh, well, which is it ? ...I've never really put to much stock in players "wilting under the NY spotlight"...there have been plenty of guys from rural areas who were able make the transition to NY. But whenever a player does not initially do well after coming to the Yanx, the "can't handle the pressure" excuse conveniently pops up.
I disagree with Pendleton. McCann doesn't need me to make excuses for for him -but I'll just say that McCann must've hit at least 20 hard hit balls right into the over-shift. Give the defenses credit - and to be fair (OF COURSE), McCann could've possibly counteracted it somewhat if he was willing or capable of hitting a few routine groundballs AGAINST the shift towards 3rd base for easy hits. McCann is still on pace for at least 22-ish HRs and 70-80 RBI with many more home games left to be played at Yankee Stadium.
Geez, what a foolish article/claim, did the moron journalist (if you want to call him that much), forget one of our greatest HOF Yanx, came from rural Commerce Oklahoma, or Maris from the rural Dakotas...? What a tool....!
