<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Brian Chase was waived by the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.

They also announced that rookie Ronnie Brewer would start at small forward on Tuesday against the Clippers.

Brewer is starting for Andrei Kirilenko, who is sidelined by a sprained right ankle.

There are no immediate plans to replace Chase on the roster.</div>
I know absolutely nothing about Brian Chase, but I am very happy for my man Ronnie Brewer. I am a big fan of Brewer, he's easily one of my favorite 2006 draftees, and I think this was a smart move. Brewer is very athletic, he will give Utah some more defense in that first unit (that Miles doesn't bring), and he's also very versatile. If Deron gets trapped, Brewer is a guy that can play PG, SG, and SF, so he can help bring the ball up. Defensively, he's lightyears ahead of Miles. I hope Brewer makes the most of it and earns a permenant starting job, this kid is going to be a player. No way he should have slid down to 14 in the draft.

Chase had a nice showing in the RMR and in pre-season, but he has a score first mentality and thats just not going to work with this team. I was hoping they'd keep him around for a while because he is a good 3pt shooter.as for Brewer, he is something special, and its not like he has been sucking it up its just the vets have been out playing him. but I guess after last night he'll get some minutes.

Yeah it's hard to get a lot of playing time under Sloan when you are a rookie playing behind 3 veterans at the same position. But I looked at the box score, and Brewer had 12 points, but that obviously tells me nothing. Let me know, how did he do out there?

He did great, he was able to get those points within the offense, something none of the Jazz rookies have been able to do in the past. He also was able to play some solid D out there.
