The Detroit Pistons have agreed to a multi-year deal with veteran reserve center Aaron Gray, according to Yahoo Sports NBA columnist Marc J. Spears. It's a two-year deal, according to David Mayo of MLive.com, and it's believed to be for the veteran's minimum, according to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News.

If I was Micheal Jordan i'd be crapping in everyones garden. Maxing out every RFA who will get maxed out(Monroe/Parsons/Bledsoe) anyway and forcing the team to match laughing as I screw up everyones off season plans.

Shit Morry did it and still gets trade partners, he also has a bad rep for horrible trade offers but it hasn't stopped him.

Hayward has seen his fg% drop every year since he's been in the league and was down to 41% last season. Almost the same for his 3 pointers. While the 5 assists and rebound per game are nice, I just don't think he's anywhere near being a max contact kind of guy.

I felt like the new CBA was going to help curtail some of this ridiculous over spending but teams just can't seem to get out of their own ways. But I guess that's the market.

With contracts only being 4 years long we are seeing so many teams with massive cap space the second tier players who are acceptable starters all are getting max money. Makes me concerned with Wes and Rolo being free agents next summer. Aldridge will make the $20 mil max; Lillard will likely get the Durant/DRose super rookie 5 year max. If Lillard makes the 3rd team All-NBA one more time in the next two years his rookie contract jumps up over $20 million. I could see some desperate small market team way under the cap deciding to just throw a max offer to Wes or Rolo. We could be fighting the luxury tax with just our starters.

Max deal, player option, AND a trade kicker?

Hayward could possibly now have the most undesirable contract in the NBA.

The Blazers lucked out with the timing of Nic's free-agency!

Today's market, Nic would be getting a max deal.

I think that league revenues have been increasing, a new TV deal will be negotiated soon (next year I think?), and owners are seeing how much more valuable their franchises are than they thought previously and willing to go into luxury tax.

Between the revenues increasing (teams betting the cap will be a lot higher in a few years) and owners being willing to go into luxury tax to increase the value of their asset (team), the spending will continue to increase. We just have to hope Mr. Allen does it too.
