Real Madrid Nikola Mirotic declined in the 2nd half of the season. This is a bit of a concern being that this has happened 2 seasons in a row. Madrid lost in both the Euroleague and ACB finals as well this season. No titles in either the ACB or Euroleague. Nikola Mirotic with his season officially over with, he'll now wait for the Chicago Bulls decision which they'll make in July. https://www.facebook.com/chicagobullsrumors?fref=nf
I'm excited to see what he can do. I have some doubts about how he will translate to the NBA... But excited to find out. Hopefully he comes over. Though, he could be traded.
Bulls trying to add Nikola Mirotic While they chase Carmelo Anthony and Pau Gasol, the Chicago Bulls may be close to landing what they believe is a major addition to their roster as they work to secure 2011 first-round draft pick Nikola Mirotic, sources told ESPN.com. The Bulls traded for Mirotic's rights in 2011 when he was the No. 23 pick in the draft and have watched as he's developed into one of the best forwards in Europe. Known for his shooting touch, the 6-foot-10 Mirotic secured a buyout Thursday for $3 million with Real Madrid, according to several reports in Europe. He is now free to join the NBA. Starting the process of bringing Mirotic, 23, over to play now will require the Bulls to make some roster moves. Because he was drafted three years ago, Mirotic is not subject to the rookie salary-cap scale, and the Bulls likely will need to use some of their cap space to contribute to his buyout and sign him to a long-term contract. I'm pretty sure the Bulls don't intend to trade Gibson either. If they're giving Mirotic anything more than than a nod and a wink, I hope they're getting something from Mirotic in return. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was saving this for tomorrow's BullsvilleTV, but the guys at 24segundosenblanco.com told me that Mirotic's buyout will be paid in two installments, and that he only made 750,000 Euros this season, which is a lot less than people thought he was making.
