Greivis Vasquez has reached agreement on a two-year, $13 million contract extension with the Toronto Raptors, according to Yahoo! Sports

ive always liked lou will, but i think his speed is deserting him a little bit, now he is just a short sg to be honest though, id rather have lowrey and 19 million in cap room than those other 3
I don't care how much Carmelo makes, or even if he lives or dies, but those tax numbers don't strike me as correct. The jock tax has to be paid to the other income-tax states (incl. Oregon) no matter what state your home team is in. So I don't see how that's zero for NY and small for IL. Also, that reduces the amount of home-state tax paid (since Carmelo isn't earning NY income when he plays in Portland). barfo
You seem to be forgetting that the clippers are now relevant. What you have seen in the past few years is the Lakers descent to the bottom, where the Clippers used to be; Hollywood really ain't big enough for the both of them. Unfortunately lakers fans will become clippers fans and the clippers will become as hated as the lakers.
I think Vasquez could easily be a starter in the league. Really I was looking at the two years. That's a pretty short contract. I thought he'd get a full MLE deal with the stupid money being thrown around.
I dunno. Maybe on a crap team he could start. But pg is such a deep position in the league, I couldn't see someone wanting to pay him to start him. More than anything, while I don't mind him, it just seems like too much to pay for a backup when there's plenty of guys who can fill the role for cheaper. I think you get good value in the league at the max contract level (usually, for true max guys), and at mle and below. Too often anything in between is an overpay for someone replaceable.
I've definitely come to realize why Neil was targeting next summer to have cap space. There were simply too many teams with ridiculous coffers this summer. Some guys were given contracts they really didn't deserve. I have no idea how Channing Frye is worth the kind of deal he signed.
