After this post, which I intended mostly to point out what I perceived to be the ridiculousness of the notion, others suggested that 16ppg combined for the two is not unreasonable.

So, backing it down a notch, I wanted to see where people fall on the spectrum of expectations for our new acquisitions.

You know if Kaman is the first big off the bench and stays healthy he could average 8 or 9. Steve could easily average 5 or 6. They should be close, it's doable.

No but I wouldn't bet on it. What we're really predicting is minutes.

If everyone is healthy and Stotts uses his starters too much then no.

I don't care how much the two of them score nearly as much as I care how much Robinson, CJ and Barton score.

Exactly. It is the second team as a whole that is important. At first glance I would say yes they could average close to 15 points a game.(Kaman at 8 and Blake at 5) But if others improve to the point that I think they will, the need may not be there. (Or the shots) And that would be the best scenario.

I'm hoping stotts doesn't do that. The supposed advantage of bringing in more vets is to try and avoid that. Although we did do that with Wright and that didn't pan out.

I'd take the under, because I don't think they'll get a ton of minutes until, perhaps, the playoffs. Both to keep them healthier and also because I think the team will use a deeper rotation in the regular season.

I think they could, but they won't and shouldn't. I think they are there to support CJ/Robinson, and that our young guys should be the focus of our bench scoring. Blake and Kaman will be the safety net for the ups-and-downs that the young guys will go through.

On paper, Mo and Dorell averaged around 14 ppg last season. It sure seemed like our bench struggled to get even that much at times though.

At this stage, I disagree. IMO Kaman should be the first option of the second unit, mimicking LMA (when he's in the post anyway). If Chris can average at least 10ppg then it will take pressure off both Lamarcus (reduced minutes), and it will allow CJ/Robinson to get points within the flow of the offense. I see them being more successful as part of a unit that plays together, not one that iso's them.

I think that's exactly how stotts will use Kaman. When we go through Aldridge, things are easier. That's only because he has such a good post game and mid range shot. If we can mimic that with Kaman, then our offense wouldn't take a hit when Aldridge has to rest.

I hope and pray Kaman can have an injury free season.
