All the more reason to not be a buyer and if possible be a seller... don't see it happening though

I just still can't believe that the Mets lose Harvey to this crap and the Yankees end up losing Tanaka. This is after Nova has to end up under the knife. Just unreal. Maybe some of these young guys should just go the Steve Austin route before their careers start. Get the bionic elbow.

...he may have to make some changes...not sure but I think I read that the slider is one of the worst pitches a guy can throw as far as the torque stressing the elbow...maybe Mo can teach him the cutter. :ghoti:

Yep, your right, both the slider and screwball are the hardest on the elbows....So said Gary Peters, Cecil Upshaw, Jim Slaton and Kevin Appier....4 MLB players I have had connections to speak with, in length; more than once.

Worked with Gary's cousin, who introduced us, and Peter's showed me his slider grip, and explained the elbow karate chop movement, & its possible probs.

Lived around the corner from Upshaw in Shreveport as a Kid...said as much, in LL then, his infamous words, "you guys don't throw any curve balls do you"...?

Slaton an alma mater alumni (once the Mgr. of the A+ local Minor Lg. Team) and stuck up as a constipated hawg....quick to talk, liked to hear himself speak.....

Appier, a H.S. Team Mate of my brothers, and Friend, His JC Coach was also a friend.
Kevin never forgot his roots here. Loved to talk pitching mechanics, as his own were not fundamentally sound. When coaches at Fresno St. tried to change his mechanics, they screwed Kevin up. So he left Fresno after 1 year, and finished up at AVJC, prior to being drafted by the Royals, same rookie class A Team-mate with Flash Gordon...

I worked with Jeff Treadway's brother in Ga. A Clemson grad, who supposedly was a better 2nd baseman than Jeff, but blew his shoulder & elbow out at Clemson....

There have been others, too......but this is enough...!

Worked with Bobby Hebert's brother in Lake Charles, and there is more, but that's besides the point, and I don't like to draw attention to me-self, sounds to pompous....such is life...! Bobby loved to fish for Bass, and still does....what a way to retire...in a great big house on a great big lake. Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulette, Hebert's philo of life.
