Melo is such a drama queen. You can't convince me that his delay isn't because he wants as much attention as LBJ is getting.
I don't see why Chris Bosh is so hot for Houston, or why Houston is considered such a hot destination (aside from their hot awful weather). They are a midrange Western playoff team. Bosh would make them better, maybe, but not San Antonio.
And it will get crazier each year. Many here weren't in favor of matching Batum . . .now he is a bargain. I bet some of these crazy contracts this summer will look like bargains in a couple of years.
I think they had to. Way over paid but this way they will have an asset to trade in another year or two if his salary becomes an issue.

If he stays at level he is now (doesn't' get better - percentage-wise he has gotten worse the last 3 years) then his contract (at that price) isn't all that appealing to many teams.
Its a way overpay now but with everyone expecting the cap to go way way up after the new TV deal it may be a fine contract in 2 years.

The Chicago Bulls are interested in Dwyane Wade. The Bulls have been in pursuit of Carmelo Anthony as their primary free agent option. Wade would almost certainly be a cheaper acquisition for the Bulls. With LeBron James leaving the Miami Heat for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Chris Bosh also possibly departing, the future of Wade with the only franchise he's played for is unclear.
Wade, Rose, and Melo would be pretty nice if they stayed healthy. The East needs to stop being a cakewalk joke.
