Police were initially called to the report of a man on the roof of a home in the 2900 block of Cornelius Pass Road just after 1:30 p.m., said Hillsboro police Lt. Mike Rouches. A caller reported that the people inside the home saw a man's leg come down through the ceiling. Investigators at the scene found an open gun case in the house and said a burglar might be holed up in the attic, and could be armed with the homeowner's firearms. Police said they will release more details as they become available.
