I ran into an ex-prof of mine who teaches political science courses. His theory on LeBron based on recent actions and also the wording of his letter is that LeBron is setting up a post basketball career in politics. A very strategic thinker, it would make tons of sense to do this move now for a future run as senator or governor. I never heard anyone prognosticate James to politics before, but it does make some sense. It will take a decade before we get to find out if there is any truth.
As empty-headed as LeBron is, he couldn't be much worse than most of the politicians in power today...
Ironically, it seems like it was the best place for him to win. Kyrie is a stud and Wiggins/Love ain't chopped liver. Add in the #1 from last year and they are stocked. Given he gets a do-over for The Decision to boot, it was probably, actually, a no-brainer. And if not politics, at least he is no longer persona-non-Grata at home anymore.
Politics? Meh, I dont see it. I think LBJ thinks of himself as more like a Magic Johnson entrepreneur with a Michael Jordan type draw. I bet he plans on building a business empire after basketball.
Agree with this. I don't really see it with him, but, you never know what a guy might be like 15 years from now.
He could be mayor of Portland, governor of Oregon and a US senator while playing for the Blazers at the same time. Did anyone from the Blazers even think to make him this offer?!?
