Yes, he plays a great 1B but offensively if he doesn't hit a homer he's worthless. Seems to have been perfectly content with his offensive numbers dropping across the board year after year. Oh well they play the shift on me so I'll just bat .235.
What the hell ever happened to Tex, from his 05 Ranger year of 144 RBI's, .301 B'AVG, 43 HR's, 112 Runs, and 307 Total Bases, (tho' that was some time ago, at the age of 25 yrs.). Or- his short 54 game stint in Anaheim, with 1.081 OPS, and .358 B'AVG, Or- even as a Yank in 09 - with 103 Runs, 43 Doubles, 39 HR's, a .292 B'AVG, and 344 Total Bases.... 383 OBP, 565 SLG, and 948 OPS....... Mark's main problem can be seen in his approach at the plate, and moreso in- His Lifetime Stats: 1,649 Hits, with 1199 K's, with only 788 Walks in 12 years, in 6,920 At Bats....that's what's Mark's problem. To many K's to Hits, Mark continues to swing for the Fences, and has not attempted to simply make contact in his approach...IMO... Every time he comes to bat, he's trying to clobber the ball into the Parking Lots, when he needs to cut down on his swing, and simply catch the ball with his glove...ya' think? Someone make him wear contacts, it may just be the psych tool necessary to enable Tex to make CONTACT, and not swing for the fences, I bet he can't even see....!
If that were the case, he'd come out a Super Tex.....Cheetos give one un-bridled powers beyond belief....perhaps he should switch to Fritos, Holy Flying Cheetos, or Flying Burritos, wait, the latter is a banned substance.....to bad, he'd at least sleep better at night, instead of at the plate.... Now, where are those coke bottle contacts...? And don't Bogart the bag man...!
