Should be a really interesting summer league for the Blazers. Lot of pressure on the roster guys to make statements going into the season. I think the Freelan vs Leonard challenge is going to be interesting. My money says Freeland takes home the blue ribbon and Meyers cries on the bench afterwards.

So much more competition (older players) in Vegas. Sure is not like the old days in SLC.

Is that the player formerly known as Jeff Pendergraph playing for the Spurs' SL team? Is this just to make Joel Freeland feel better?

This summer league is no longer just for young players anymore. It makes for much better competition.

Russ Smith leading the Pelicans on an 18-0 run in the last 4 minutes to go ahead of the D-League team 80-79 with 20 seconds left.

I like that the D league has a team in Summer League. Interesting from listening to Rip City Report today when Casey reminded me that Damian won SL MVP and shared it with a guy who now plays in Croatia. I can't remember the guys name, can anybody?

I am here in Vegas. Was hoping to see Wiggins & Parker, but the put it in the small gym. Epic fail!

I watched Noah Vohnal get destroyed by the Warriors. Then I watched Spurs beat the Kings. Austin Daye has really improved. If he is a FA, I would like Portland to try and snag him.

I tried to set my DVR for the Portland game tomorrow, but I got the dreaded "not available in your area" message.

Is it blacked out in Oregon?

But Josh Howard HAS to feel bad, right? Like when I go to the gym and I'm playing with a bunch of high schoolers? There's a moment when you just look at yourself and think "what am I doing here?"

For those (like me) sad enough to care, here are the stats from Orlando.

Things to take away: Donald Sloan and Casper Ware would be worth a look as third-string PGs... Jeremy Lamb should've been better at this point... Did Mitch McGary just leap (well, lurch) ahead of Steven Adams? Check out Marcus Smart's FG%... Nerlens Noel led in blocks and steals - the new AK47?

Withey is definitely a presence down low. It's refreshing to see a big dunk anything close to the rim.

    Dante Exum is a proper PG, at 6'6". He's a rich man's Michael Carter-Williams.
