Pasta, not for nothing but Mark Staal plays either first or at worst 2nd pair defense and 20 plus minutes a game with ANY TEAM in hockey.
mrmel, i have been a rangers fan for a long time, staal has been here what 5+ seasons or more ?, he has had about maybe and i'm being very generous 7 games a year where he plays a game where he is actually noticable, he had the biggest platform of his career to shine and he was a no show, rangers fans have had way too high an expectation from the kid far too long, who has just been pretty much an avg dman in league! maybe if he played with a little more heart, he wouldn't be gettin as much ice time , and that would be fine with me, and i would hope all rangers fans if he actually made more of an impact!
So of all the players to choose from you pick Staal. You've singled him out for 5 years now, he's been a solid Defensive dman for the Rangers in his tenure here and your bias towards him is some what pathetic as there are other on the roster that deserve to be singled out and hammered home. But you choose Staal time and time again. "We move on"

Pasta, Staal has just come back this year from 2 injury plagued seasons from a severe concussion and than another one and a severe eye injury. He is healthy now for the first time in 3 years and I expect him to pick up where he was when he got the first concussion in feb,2011 when he was one of the top defenseman in hockey. There isn't a team that wouldn't love to have him and the rangers are included in that. On the open market he's getting 6 mill plus and I'm hoping the rangers get a hometown discount in the girardi salary range. This team takes a big step back if staal gets traded defensively especially with strahlman gone.

Maybe the reason why he is defended everywhere you go is because of the petty name calling from posters on most message boards are usually not tolerated? You dont like his views? Fine! That is what message boards are all about! However, name calling adds nothing to the conversation. And name calling is not what the forum is about. Debate opinions about the team, coaches, GM's, and other teams. Do not debate what you think about each other. One of your posts has been edited.
