Astonishing in how much I have contrasted with many of you in here, here of late. But again, I'm not going to be quick to give a free pass on the matter. One summer wouldn't have hurt him to give it up for his country.
Does his country really need him? It's not like he is letting us down by not playing. The USA is kind of deep. Besides it's not one summer. The goal would be to play now so he can also play in the Olympics.
This is probably the last straw for Aldridge. He's turned them down so many times that they aren't going to rely on him anymore.
I really don't care if LA does international play. I think he is what he is, and nothing he does with Team USA is going to change that. Dame on the other hand can really benefit from playing with these guys, and I think it will only help his star grow. Lillard has a real shot at being a superstar, so things like this can help grow his brand.
The organization is pinning their hopes on a guy who could do with or without the game. It doesn't matter one way or the other to him. I almost get the same feeling from him when it comes to winning. Again, time will only tell.
