We can't. Dallas renounced nations rights to create cap space for Parsons. Dallas can't sign and trade him anymore

It's not letting me edit the post for some reason, but I meant Marion, not nations. Damn auto correct

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I wondered if "Nation's Rights" was some nickname for Marion that I had missed.

Grizzlies were in the WCF two years ago, beat the #1 Spurs the year prior, and took the Thunder to a grueling 7 games. They are way better than the Hornets and might even be the #1 team in the East.

If I needed someone to play minutes next season out of the two it would definitely be Claver. But I don't think there will be any minutes for him; we have plenty of big men and Wright is already on the third string at the SF spot. Clavier is on an expiring deal planning to return to Europe next summer.

With Crabbe we don't know as much what to expect; best case scenario he has a big improvement throughout the season as Barton had last year. If so we can pick up his team option next June and keep him for under $1 million. If he flops we can cut him as an expiring. That type of players has more value as the 15th man on the end of a bench.

Crabbe has shown nothing though. Barton actually had a decent summer league last year. It showed growth. He has continually progressed as a player since his rookie season. Crabbe is just.... floating. He doesn't have the same killer instinct.

You make some good points. What makes me reluctant is the fact that players swear that Claver is a good outside shooter. All he has to do is hit a wide open shot well enough to keep the defense honest, and he would move ahead of Wright. I love almost everything about Claver's game except his outside shot.

Some say he does not have the lateral movement to guard SF's, I don't buy that. I think he is a very versatile defender, good passer, and high Q player. Damn I want him to prove he can shoot too so he will get enough minutes where he would want to re-sign. If his teammates are right and he can shoot, them he just needs a 4-5 game stretch where he plays well to gain his confidence.

If I had to choose between he and Crabbe, I would cut Crabbe. We have enough SG's. We need one more PG.

The first thing that jumps out about Toure Murry's game is his defense. He uses his long reach and quick feet to crowd defenders, challenge shots and step into passing lanes. The rookie is averaging 1.8 steals per 36 minutes and defends the pick-and-roll better than any guard on the team not named Iman Shumpert. He is also an above-average rebounder for a guard, grabbing 4.7 rebounds per 36 minutes. It is Murry’s offensive limitations that have kept him out of the rotation. He has a solid handle, is quick off the bounce and attacks the basket, something the Knicks’ offense has lacked all season. His 3.5 free-throw attempts per 36 minutes ranks first among Knicks guards. Bleacher Report

I know you have to consider the source, but wondering if this FA would make a good end of the bench, 3rd PG for the Blazers.

Even his college coach said he had motivation issues. He looks like any other Summer League scrub that's going to play overseas because of lack of athleticism and consistency.

He's not part of the future and his option won't be picked up.

I wonder what turned out to be too much:

Sources said the Pistons also seriously discussed various sign-and-trade scenarios this month that would have landed restricted free agent Greg Monroe in Portland, but the Blazers ultimately pulled themselves out of the race for Monroe by signing free-agent big man Chris Kaman to join Robin Lopez in the Blazers' center rotation.

Apparently Cleveland is willing to give up Wiggins for Love.

By the way, anyone notice that a big (the biggest ever) name free agent signed with a small market? A cold city too.

It's kind of irritating that a city the size of Cleveland, and the metro area around Cleveland, has more sports teams than Portland does.

Portland has a better NFL team by virtue of having none.

I think Ptd is the biggest metro city with one professional sports team
