As much as I love Shaq and what he's done, he makes you think, 'what more could he have done?' I know he just won his 4th title but looking over his whole career...if he just would have stayed in top shape and given more effort on defense...man...We all know he's taken games off...etc...in the last few years, if only he gave more consistant effort during the year. :no1:
If he made 70-75% of his free throws during his prime he probably would have averaged 35-37 a night. And you are right, if he honestly gave 110%, he could have been the best ever. It's funny talking about him like this because he still is arguably the most dominant player ever. But if he really busted his ass and stayed in good shape, made free throws, and tried on defense, nothing would have stopped him at all.Either way, I love Shaq and he's the baddest Motherf*cker I've ever seen play the game.

Yeah definetly. He has all the tools physically. However Shaq doesn't/didn't have the greatest work ethnic. If he had the work ethnic of someonel ike lets lets say Jordan, Shaq would be the obvious choice for GOAT. The guy pretty much breezed his way though the league and is arguably a top 5 player of all time.

Part of it was because he faced no challenge for years so he felt content. He was facing Sabonis in his prime. How frightening.
Yeah there weren't any good teams during his reign for championships so he did the minimum required to win championships. Also helps to have a superstar shooting guard to take some of the pressure off of him.
Well, Shaq is arguably the 2nd best player of all time IMO....I basically agree with everything that has been said. If he had just worked harder.... and if he stayed in tip top shape like he was in Orlando. Although, had he been in tip top shape, he wouldnt have been able to use his massive body frame like he had. And when you really think about it, he couldnt have done that much better than he did anyways. He won 3 rings in a row (MVP on all of them), and MVP, and just recently won another ring. He is obviously the most dominant player ever and outside of Michael, he is the best IMO.
